I have over 20 years of experience taking care of dogs, and I just love to be around them! When I was pet sitting in my younger years, I developed a sense of responsibility and love for animals, which only grew with age. The unconditional love an animal, especially a dog provides is unmatched. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and would love the opportunity to care for all types of dogs. I can’t wait to provide your pup with the love and care they’re used to getting at home! I live with my significant other, but I will be the primary caregiver. However, my significant other helps to watch our fur-babies. It’s always nice to have someone else to help with some of the responsibilities (or just to dole out some extra cuddles and kisses), and I think we make a pretty good team together! We have two love bugs of our own: a mini Fox Terrier and a miniature Pinscher. Our house is full of love for any new pups, and we love to bring new friends into our family. I am very observant and detail oriented, which easily brings comfort to any new situation. During a stay, I will be very attentive to your pup’s temperament and make the necessary changes in my home or my own temperament for an easy transition into my care. I always make sure to keep owners updated on a daily basis by way of texts, videos, and pictures, so you can see just how your pup is doing and what we’ve done for the day. I also have a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to make adjustments or work around busy or difficult regimens. It’s all part of being passionate about dogs! My neighborhood is around the National Harbor. I reside in a split-4 level home with a finished basement. The backyard is huge and includes a fenced-in dog park, gazebo, and patio. It’s perfect for getting some off-leash time in! The neighborhood is pretty quiet and the neighbors are friendly, which I love. I live on a cul-de-sac, and there is also a park at the other end of my street. Your pooch will love the amount of space they would have to play and relax. We’ll also make sure to head to the park whenever necessary to get some exercise.

Desheyna is the consummate professional, the perfect person to love your furry friends the same way you do when you cannot be with them. She makes sure to cover all the bases from emergency contacts, veterinarians AND where the clean up stuff might be. She consistently provides photo updates and peace of mind. I think my boys Bob and Sam are starting to want her back!
This was a last minute booking and also my first time using a boarding service. And for 5 nights! Needless to say, I had some apprehensions. But I can confidently say Desheyna's care and attention to detail for my Booda bear (10yr male toy poodle) was impeccable. I especially appreciated her schedule flexibility and spacious home and yard play area for my babe. Desheyna was sure to provide picture updates and status check ins as to how my baby was adjusting and socializing with her dogs. It's evident she has a genuine love for dogs and my Booda bear will definitely be staying again!
Desheyna is an excellent dog boarder. She has wonderful space and other dogs to help your dog feel at home. She was prompt and cared for my dog just as I would. I'd definitely use her services again.
Desheyna was very hospitable and flexible. Her place is a doggies paradise. Plenty of food/water bowls, couches and blankets for your furbaby to lounge on. She sent plenty pictures and updates each day. Her huge backyard gave my pup plenty of room to run and play. He definitely had a blast! I would definitely use Desheyna again!!

Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
Your pooch and I will go on walks in the morning, afternoon and night to keep happy and healthy. We can play some of their favorite games in the backyard during our off times as well. During the weekends, I am available 24/7. During the week, I typically get up early for play time and then go to work. My job is 5 minutes from my home, so I would come back home for lunch for some playtime and a potty break. After work (around 3pm or so), I am home for the rest of the day, so your pup will have my full and undivided attention. We’ll have plenty of time to head to the dog park together to meet some new friends, go for a walk around the neighborhood, or enjoy some supervised playtime in the backyard. I’m happy to meet your pup at their energy level, no matter where it is!
