While we love all dogs, we have a special spot in our hearts for dogs who are loners or those who have dog aggression issues. Your dog(s) would be the only dog(s) in our home, even if this is not the case (we would take dogs from different homes if they were already familiar with each other: example, 2 siblings going to a wedding and we could keep both dogs that already are friends) We do not have any children either, so if your dog doesn't like being around little ones, we can help keep them comfortable and relaxed while you're away!! We lost our Amos Moses after 10.5 years. He wasn't a fan of other dogs, and we know how tough it can be to find dog care for a dog of that sort. It seems everyone who loves dogs, has dogs of their own. We aren't ready to love a dog full time again, which makes us perfect for your dog(s). We have a large fully fenced back yard, but your pup wouldn't ever be left unsupervised. Our furniture is all dog furniture from the chairs, to the couch to both our bed and the guest bed. Your dog could sleep wherever they are most comfortable sleeping. We live on a quiet, non-through street. We had an Olde English Bulldogge for 10.5 years so we have experience with puppies, bully breeds, and senior dogs. We'd love the chance to meet your dog and bring them into our home while you're away. Derek works is in Real Estate and much of his day is working from home, but even if he's gone, it's not for very long and his schedule can be quite flexible. Also, if your dog is more comfortable to come along than to grab a nap at home, that is usually possible too! Andrea works as a teacher 5 minutes from our home , so she is always around as well. I should also note that we live in a rambler style home, so if your dog has issues with stairs, they only need to deal with 2 steps to get into or out of our home, making our house great for senior dogs that might have mobility issues. Once we have a reservation, we do our best to set our calendar to unavailable, but even if it looks as though we aren't available, please ask, as things change frequently. Please note as well, we are available for mid-day let outs, as well as last minute "potty breaks" within a reasonable distance of Brooklyn Center, should you find yourself caught in a meeting, traffic, or emergencies come up. Just contact us and we can likely help out. If you are looking for a long stay, or you or your dog are nervous, we can set up a "trial run" overnight in advance of booking your long stay for peace of mind. ***A portion of each of our dog sit fee is donated to Lightshine Canine: A Rez Dog Rescue. While we would love to watch EVERY dog EVERY time, we are currently only able to book stays 8 weeks in advance due to our ever changing schedules.
