Hello! Thank you for the opportunity to care for your best friend. Your dog will be safe with me as I’m certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. I’ve loved my own dog for over 52 years. My background is in process improvement, so I am continually improving what I offer for the comfort, safety and play activity and enrichment of the dogs that come to visit. I carry a liability and bond policy with KennelPro underwritten by Mourer Foster Insurance. A typical day at my house starts with feeding breakfast to my doggy guests between 7-8 am. I give the dogs lots of time outside playing in the yard during the cool morning hours. The dogs normally play tag, dig holes in the sandpit and chase one another around the large yard. When it starts to get hot, I bring the dogs inside to rest and play. For the remainder of the day, I take them outside every couple hours for a quick potty break and to run around. Supper time rolls around and I repeat the morning routine around 7-8 pm. The dogs get several potty breaks throughout the day, a potty break after supper and one more late night potty break before bedtime, usually around midnight. Their day is filled with lots of exercise, play, sleep, love, praise and positive reinforcement. This is my 8th year of pet sitting; it’s my sole source of income, so my complete focus is on your dog. When your dog comes to stay with me, they are treated as if they are one of my own dogs, a part of my family. Each dog is given individualized attention and their care is tailored to what is making them feel most comfortable. I have five rooms dedicated as private doggy suites. There is a doggy door that the dogs can use to go in and out to the safe, secure yard under supervision. I have five separate yards to accommodate different temperaments and sizes of dogs. Many times, there is a pack of active dogs, a pack of laid back dogs and maybe a pack of little dogs. My objective is the keep your pet active, happy and safe. While your dog stays with me, I will reinforce five basic obedience commands: sit, down, come, off and leave it. Once your pet graduates from those commands, I can start teaching them a trick of your choice! My love of dogs began as a young girl on the plains of Kansas. I've attended many obedience classes with different trainers with my own dogs. I have lots of experience with senior dogs and dogs with separation, storm or loud noises anxiety. I've been a professional dog groomer for over 28 years and can combine a bath during your pet’s stay. I've volunteered at our local animal shelter walking dogs and giving new arrivals a much needed spa day in preparation for their new homes.
