Are you looking for a cat specialist? You've found her! My name is Denise and I look forward to meeting you and your cats! I grew up in a multi-cat household (more than 10), and have been a loving cat mom for all of my adult life. Because of my special connection with cats, I became a full-time cat sitter in Portland, Oregon from the mid-1990s through the mid-2000s. Ten years and hundreds of wonderful cats (and their parents) have given me a wealth of experience that I would now love to share with the Sierra Vista community! I'm highly attuned to each cats' individual personality, and I am especially good with timid/fearful/shy kitties. I will provide a welcoming, non-threatening quiet presence for them to get comfortable with me on their terms (as one should)! For those cats who crave attention- I'm here for it! Playtime, lap time, petting, quiet time, "conversation", special games or activities they enjoy. In addition to feeding/fresh water and litterbox maintenance, I can administer oral medications or supplements as well as insulin shots and sub-q fluids. I have a lot of experience with seniors and kitties with special needs. <3 Please note that I specialize in cats exclusively as that is where I have focused my expertise in care over the years. That said, if you have fish, hamsters, bunnies, or similar small critters that will also need care, that's fine too!

Along with my home care experience, my background in property management means I know how to handle just about any type of home emergency, should one arise, and a sharp eye for noticing items that could potentially become an issue. My #1 goal is to provide peace of mind while you're away. Covid precautions: I am fully vaccinated, and wash/sanitize thoroughly between client visits. In addition to any details concerning medication needs and schedule that we'll go over in detail ahead of time-definitely let me know if there are any places your more reserved cat(s) may be hiding so I can count noses when I arrive, and again when I leave! Also, do let me know any special likes, dislikes, or activities I should incorporate into my visits. Does your cat like to have a faucet turned on to drink from while I'm there? Are there any special games they like to play? Do they want a lap to sit on? Any areas they especially love (or do not love) to be touched/petted? There's no such thing as too many details; I want to give them the best experience for their needs while they are in my care. :)
A typical day
A typical day with your cats will depend on what they (and you) prefer! Beyond the usual food, water, litter care, medications, and cleanup, I will interact with each of them in the way they like best. This can range from catnip parties to just sitting quietly in the same room to let them know a friendly human is here if they want my attention, and everything in-between.

Availability
My schedule is quite flexible! If you have cats that require medication on a specific schedule such as insulin shots, I can work with their usual schedule. I give time priority to medical/special needs, and generally will make once per day visits late morning-mid-afternoon (around the same time each day). I reserve earlier morning and later evening visits for twice-daily bookings.
