I am a fur-nugget loving full time English Teacher looking for an enjoyable way to de-stress on the weekends and during the summer season. I rescued and trained my own 70 lb Shepard mix (Sadie) 3 years ago and love dogs of all shapes and sizes. I have watched neighbors' dogs for a few years now and am practiced in the art of patience from working with HS kids and growing up with dogs my whole life. I believe in the importance of positive reinforcement and exercise in creating an environment of love and understanding between any dog and human! My circle of friends know I am dog crazy and can spend hours at the park with my own pup just getting to know people and their lovable friends. I believe animals, and especially dogs, bring out the absolute best in people, and they deserve as much love and attention as we would give our own human friends!

Denise was a pleasure to work with! She was very responsive and flexible. Throughout the entire process she was extremely professional and responsible. She asked tons of questions so that she was prepared for and was very concerned with making the dogs as comfortable as possible. She got along great with our babies and we will definitely be booking with her again!!
Denise has grown up with dogs and was always kind and and caring with them. She learned that the more love you gave them the more love they gave you. She had to get a dog when she moved out on her own so she could continue to share that kind of relationship and it seems to fulfill both herself and "Sadie", her rescue dog. She is very mindful of any animal's discipline, health and safety needs making sure they are immunized, properly fed, groomed and obedient. She and Sadie go on walks often and arranges play dates with other friend's pups. I think she would be a wonderful candidate for your dog sitter program.
Denise is a natural with dogs! My dogs immediately became comfortable around her. She has taken care of our dogs several times; each time, she has been professional, reliable and punctual. She is great at communicating with me throughout the day, letting me know how things are going, which keeps my mind at ease knowing my dogs are well taken care of. She is attentive with the dogs and keeps them active and happy!

Knowing the dog's temperament is important- if they are dog or food aggressive, for example. Areas of sensitivity for them (do they not like their paws touched? Do they get anxious if you get close to their face?) I do not have any breed preferences, but I am experienced primarily with larger breeds, as well as older dogs.
A typical day
Walks around the neighborhood are always good for dogs to build confidence and familiarity with the area in which they live. In addition, a fenced in backyard is the perfect place to practice commands and tricks, as it provides some distractions and allows dogs to improve their skills. A fenced in yard also gives me the opportunity to play whatever favorite game your furry friend enjoys most.
