I'm home 24/7 - Small dogs only

Pet care experience

🎉🎉 01/13/2024 - Starting my 8th year of this DREAM JOB! So blessed to have a life full of adorable floofs! 💕💕10/8/2022- I started taking fewer guests at a time, this year, after being hospitalized December 2021 with Covid. I also stopped taking new clients for about a year. Thankfully I am pretty much back to normal after LONG Covid. It never hurts to ask me if I am available when it shows I’m not. Cancellations are not uncommon. Send me a message if you need daycare or boarding for your small dog. Stay safe! ** To see current & past stays, please check out my Facebook page, “Denise's Dogcation”. I post videos several times each day for parents to watch at their convenience ** I only take SMALL dogs. If you are like me and don't feel comfortable with your little Prince or Princess being around bigger dogs (no matter how nice) PLEASE double check the sitter profiles for their accepted weight ranges AND their pets in their home. ** I have SEVERAL older clients. Many on medication 1, 2 or 3 X/day. Some blind and/or deaf. Some insulin dependent diabetic. They have all been repeat clients and feel very comfortable here. I get to know them and their own special needs as well as their signals letting me know what they want. ** I have had many unsocialized guests. Ones that had NEVER been around other dogs. Their parents were worried how they would do. They ALL did quite well becoming social. Most have repeated. One was able to get a SISTER and they both come here now! ** Both Faline and Buttercup have had their Canine Influenza shots. I am a married, 56 year old woman who has had at least one dog all of my adult life. For several years I had FIVE! (3 Chow Chows, my first Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. They have all since crossed the Rainbow Bridge.) I am very experienced with giving oral & injected medications at specific times per day as well as ear & eye drops. I also have experience with blind/sight impaired and deaf/hearing impaired dogs. They have all gotten along just fine in my home. We brought 5 month old Faline home 3/15/14. Faline's previous sister, Flower, was a rescue who had been abused. She was blind and suffered seizures. Faline was her seeing eye dog and comforted her through seizures as well. Flower crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Good Friday 2016. Faline is quite the employee here and Ambassador for the guests. From 2011 to June 2016 I worked from home. Since then I had been a housewife. We have carry bags and strollers so Faline had never been without Mom and/or Dad. I enjoyed being a housewife for several months but wanted to find a "job" that I love. After my husband, I couldn't think of anything I love more than my Faline! I knew others feel the same so I wanted to provide a safe, fun and comfortable place for parents to drop off their babies. Once or twice, a couple of days a week, every work day or when you take a long weekend or vacation? I'll treat yours like they're mine. Then in May, we really did bond with a guest as if she were our own. So much so that we let her parents know, IF there should ever come a time when they needed to find her a new home, PLEASE think of us. They had actually been wrestling with that VERY thought. A month later they asked if we would still add Buttercup to our family and we readily accepted. Now Faline has a sister once more. <3 While I do NOT have any breed restrictions, as I prefer not to judge all dogs by the actions of others, ALL guests MUST be UNDER 20 lbs and get along with other dogs. I also do require your dog(s) be done with teething. (Typically by 8 months old) Those little, needle like, baby teeth are too much for other fur babies to handle. Being potty trained is important but accidents happen and that's OK. I have a dog door and tile flooring. Accidents are what "Nature's Miracle" and paper towels are for. The main picture is the interior of our living room, taken from the "hall". The front door is open, showing our storm door complete with dog door. The next interior pic is from the opposite side, near the front door. The short hallway has the 2 bedroom doors. These doors would be closed during the day for everyone's and everything's safety. The 3rd & 4th interior pics are the kitchen. It can easily be blocked with our baby gate, should anyone have a need for solitude, peace, quiet, rest or recuperation. The next pic shows my front door with dog door. I have 2 fenced in areas. The one the dogs use has artificial turf and leaf covered soil, seen in the next pictures. 3 sides are 6 ft, white, vinyl fencing, the 4th side is the side of the house. The dog door goes out to this area. The gate stays locked and I added to the bottom to keep the littlest guests from getting stuck. The second area is zero-scaped with small rocks, part 6 ft wood fence, part vinyl and part 3 ft wood picket fence. It is not pictured and would NOT be used by the dogs. I mention it for information and to say there is quite a bit of space and barrier between our babies and other people or the street. ie, children walking to or from school would never even know there are dogs in my yard. I added a picture of Faline napping after her grooming appointment, hence the bow. SO cute! I picked up a LOT of dog toys for the pictures but there is NO shortage of toys to play with. My husband (We met in 1980) works full time, Monday-Friday. For any Dog Parents who do the same and need a day care sitter, I will be the only one at my home. Anyone needing a sitter or boarding overnight or on the weekends can expect him to be home. He is a lifelong dog lover as well! His family had a Mini American Eskimo, Miniature Schnauzers and Dachshunds. But a LH Chihuahua (Faline) and a Shih/Yorkie mix (Buttercup) own him now! As other sections state, I do have a good size, fenced in, side yard. About 3/4 is artificial turf with the rest being leaf covered soil. Our front storm door has a dog door. Fencing with a locked gate leads dogs (and people) out to the side yard. Dogs typically have access to the dog door all day, weather permitting. Also stated in another section, we only take dogs that have been spayed or neutered. They must also be current on all shots/vaccinations/necessary licenses, flea & tick free. (So you know that any other dogs your pup is around are also ALL of these things) PLEASE complete your pet(s) profile with their care instructions, veterinary’s information and Emergency Contact information. Knowing your sitter has this info can put your mind at ease while you’re away. You need only bring their food, favorite treats (If you like) and medications (If any) for the stay. Also, check your calendar to make sure if there is any monthly or quarterly Heart Worm or flea medication that could be due during their stay. (Do NOT bring any beds, blankets, bowls or toys. I have MORE than enough here and would hate for anything of yours to be damaged or lost.) PLEASE TEXT/MESSAGE ONLY. (No phone calls please unless it’s an emergency) I have my cell phone with me all the time so I can be reached or can respond quickly. I am home and available to watch your fur baby just about 24/7 as I am a happy housewife. If I ever have plans come up I would mark the calendar that I am unavailable, ahead of time.

I recently had the pleasure of entrusting my beloved dog, Bougie, to the care of Denise, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional experience she provided. From the moment I met Denise, I could sense her genuine love and passion for animals, and it was immediately evident that Bougie would be in excellent hands. Throughout the day, Denise provided an unparalleled level of care and attention to Bougie, ensuring that she not only felt comfortable but also had a fantastic time. Denise's dedication to her work was truly remarkable, and it was heartwarming to see the bond she formed with Bougie in such a short time. Denise went above and beyond in keeping me updated with regular photos and videos, allowing me to witness firsthand the joy and happiness Bougie was experiencing under her care. It was incredibly reassuring to see Bougie thriving and having a blast with other dogs, thanks to Denise's thoughtful and engaging approach. Her professionalism, reliability, and genuine affection for animals set her apart, and I felt at ease knowing that Bougie was in the best possible hands. Denise's commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for pets is truly commendable, and I am immensely grateful for the peace of mind she provided. I wholeheartedly recommend Denise to any pet owner seeking a compassionate, trustworthy, and dedicated caregiver for their furry family members. Bougie and I are truly grateful for the outstanding care and love Denise showed, and we look forward to future opportunities to benefit from her exceptional pet care services.

Our dog had the time of his life staying with Denise!!! I think the only time Teddy’s tail stopped wagging when he passed out sleeping from a long day of fun with the other pups in her care. We loved all the pictures and videos she sent. We knew that Teddy was happy and very well taken care of. He can’t wait to come back for another “Dogcation”!!!

Safety could be my middle name. I have a baby gate & 2 door system. I never open my kitchen garage door unless I know there are no dogs in the kitchen & the baby gate is secured. Then I never open the garage door until I close the kitchen door. I keep my vinyl fence gate locked so no one can open it & get in or accidentally let anyone out.

While I do NOT have any breed restrictions, as I prefer not to judge all dogs by the actions of others, all guests MUST be less than 20 lbs. I do request your dog(s) be done with teething and be potty trained. I also need to know if they have any issues such as: Food/treat aggression (I feed everyone separately but this would be important to know) Any physical issues (Are they allowed on couches or beds? Joint or back issues? Allergies? Ever had a seizure? I have lots of experience with special needs, senior, blind, deaf and dogs who have seizures and I have no problem with any special instructions.

A typical day

I have all kinds of toys and balls that they can play with whenever they want to. We can play Fetch and Tug O' War until they decide to stop. Water bowls a plenty! And beds and blankets for napping, of course. I have a doggie door available all the time. I don't plan to "Walk" the dogs simply because that opens up some risks I would not want someone to take with my babies, so I won't take those risks with yours. As changing food can cause "gastric distress" for some, please pack more than enough of your baby's food and treats for their stay with me as it is not uncommon for stays to be extended.
