I take online courses so I have a very flexible schedule! I update my availability calendar daily, you can trust that I will be available when it says that I am. I usually respond within a few minutes, always the same day. I love all animals, big and small and wild and tame; I volunteer at the Humane Society, and I have three cats. I am very familiar with both dogs' and cats' languages, having spent a lot of time with them and also reading about them. I interned at Chimps Inc, a chimpanzee sanctuary in Central Oregon, for a summer and spent eight weeks caring for chimpanzees. I also took a college course on animal psychology and behavior. Those experiences gave me a deeper understanding of animals' need for physical and intellectual stimulation and enrichment. Just like humans, animals need things to do; otherwise they find "creative" ways to entertain themselves, which sometimes are not so beneficial to anyone. For dogs, going on walks meets their need for both physical exercise and for mental stimulation, through sights, smells, and interactions. Playing with cats meets their need for "raw/wild cat" behavior, by letting them hunt, catch, and kill (a toy, of course!). Ideally, play happens before meals, then letting the cat "eat" its prey (meal). I love all dogs big and small, purebreds and mutts, outgoing or shy pups, and I've never met a dog that I don't get along with!. I can't own a dog at the moment, and I would *love* to give your dog some love, exercise, and treats while getting my dog "fix"! I am always happy to take care of other pets too. I love cats! I have taught all three of mine to sit and shake for treats 😸 I'm fine with caring for reptiles, fish, or any other pet that you may have. I like to think that I have a green thumb and don't mind watering your plants while I'm there. I'll also send you daily pictures of your pets. Housesitting: I will come and spend the night in your home, take care of your furbabies and other pets, water your plants, and pickup your mail. Unless otherwise agreed upon, I usually arrive no later than 6:30 pm and leave no earlier than 8:30 am (but I often arrive earlier and leave later than that). I may spend the day there as well, if requested; my schedule is usually flexible. I will walk your dog(s) twice a day, once for about thirty minutes, and once for about fifteen minutes, and I will send you some pictures throughout the stay. If requested, I'll be happy to give your pup a bath before you get back 😁 I usually respond to Rover messages within minutes. However, I sometimes will take a bit longer, such as if I am out walking a dog. You can count that I will respond as promptly as possible, while providing great dog care.
