Deidre was awesome! This was our first time using Rover and we couldn’t be happier! She helped out on short notice and was extremely responsive and kind to our little guy! I received consistent updates with photos and our pup had a blast!

Deidre watched my fur baby in her home for 24 hours. She sent pics and an update of how Kucy was doing. Lucy came home happy and well. I would definitely use Deidre again when I need a Rover!! Thanks Deidre!

Caring for animals, especially dogs, has always been my passion. I strive to ensure they feel comfortable, happy, and right at home. I have over 10 years experience working in the pet care industry and am constantly attending seminars and doing self study to learn more about dog signaling, body language, and overall communication so that I can expand my knowledge as much as possible. The past three years, I have attended the annual APDT conferences. I am a CPDT-KA certified trainer, which requires over 300 hours of hands on time personally training dogs. I was the head trainer consultant at a local dog daycare, boarding, and training facility for 7 years before branching out on my own, so I’m literally around dogs all day, every day! There is nothing that is more fullfilling to me than making sure all of the dogs in my care are comfortable and free of stress.

Information Deidre S. would like to know about your pet

This is more of a client preference than dog preference... I value all of my client's time and expect the same in return. I expect clients to treat *agreed upon* drop-off/ pick-up times as they would any other appointment. Between working for another company and running my own business, I have strict windows of time. I like to allow each dog 30 minutes to acclimate before the next dog gets dropped off. If just one client is 5 minutes late, it throws everything off. I also crate everyone else while dogs are getting dropped off for safety, and if a client is late, the dogs are having to stay crated longer and it is not fair to them. I am very passionate about being punctual and if a client has a habit of being tardy, this is not the right fit for them. I am willing to accept unaltered male and females up to 18 months. If their vet’s recommendation is to spay/neuter past that age, while I respect the vet’s decision, unaltered dogs past my age limit will not be allowed to return until fixed. Unaltered dogs can unbalance the energy that we strive to provide and can amp up the other dogs. All dogs must be crate trained. Due to having two dogs of my own and typically having more than one doggie guest, I utilize crates during feeding as well as when I step out of the house for work when I cannot monitor their interactions. As mentioned above, I also crate everyone during a drop off/ pick up, to avoid any escape artists getting out. It is purely for safety to avoid any conflicts occurring between dogs. When I am home, dogs are able to free roam as they please. I love taking cute pics of the dogs and sending updates to owners, however I do not provide daily updates as this would require me to be on my phone all day, which takes away from the care being provided to the dogs as well as my self-care. I generally send updates every 2-3 days and appreciate everyone's understanding and patience.

A typical day

I am all about fulfilling a dogs needs with both mental and physical stimulation. I offer additional services such as brain games, treat puzzles, training sessions, and nose-work that owners may add on to their pup’s stay for an additional fee. Though I love all the fur babies as if they were my own, I also believe in structure. Crates are utilized for feeding, sleeping, during drop offs/ pick ups, and when I step out of the home. *NO EXCEPTIONS*

Please understand I generally fill up 2+ weeks in advance and have very limited drop off/ pick up times as we get closer to reservation dates. This also applies to meet and greets! If a reservation request is sent within a two week time frame, it can be very difficult to schedule a meet and greet as we have other dogs and clients to tend to throughout the day. During meet and greets, owners and dogs are free to explore the backyard. No dog-dog interactions will be attempted during meet and greets. We have a specific way of introducing dogs that is time consuming, and requires our full undivided attention. Owners can pose as a distraction and it isn’t unusual for dogs to react differently with their owner present. Since owners will not be present during the boarding stay, it is important we get accurate introductions without owners. Our home is strictly a dog only household. Aside from myself and my partner, humans do not come inside the home. No exceptions. We aim to provide a stress-free, safe environment and having stranger come into the home will amp up the other doggie guests, which goes against our mission.
