Pet care experience
Recently lost my dog last year. So I am genuinely trying to fill that void by caring for your loved one! I've watched dogs (and cats) of small to large, lazy to active, friendly to not-so-friendly types. I like running with dogs and taking them on hikes, so casual walks are easy to me. I can be very creative with dogs and getting them exercise if they cannot walk so well. I am studying to be an occupational therapist, so I like translating those skills to finding solutions to certain special needs of pets and am quick to learn the needs of your companion. I have given animals oral medication before and am willing to learn to give animals any injections they might need. Overall, I am willing to work with any situation presented to me with your animal.

Came to our house for the meet and greet, and was perfect for our day trip to NYC. While we were gone Maggie got over a mile walk, and it gave her a nice break during the day.
Dedrick is a fantastic dog/house sitter. We needed a last minute sitter for our very friendly but very energetic dog, Opie. We were lucky to have found Dedrick. He is responsible, communicates well, and very trustworthy. He sent us pictures of Opie throughout their time together and made sure Opie was exercised, fed, and snuggled. I highly recommend Dedrick, and we look forward to having him dogsit for us in the future.

A typical day
I like taking dogs on easy to intermediate trails to make walks more interesting for your pet if your dog is physically capable of it. Taking them to dog parks is something I would like to do with them so they have interactions with other dogs if that is something you would want me to do. Playing the typical tug of war and or fetch to tire them out at the end of a walk is something I also do if they still have some energy left.
