When I met Dede, she was leaving town for business and her dog was along for the trip. I thought that was a little strange but she shared that her dog was family and always traveled with her. As I got to know her better I saw myself that this was true. Her dog was family. She had a special bond with Ashley, her Dalmatian mixed rescue dog. What I soon learned was this affection translated to all animals, not just Ashley, though Ashley was indeed family. I learned that Dede is very conscientious with pets, concerned with their diet, the proper amount of exercise, grooming and overall health and well being. I can think of no better person to leave my dog with either for an extended stay or an afternoon walk. I was so impressed with Dede that I later married her. (Not just because of her love for animals or just because my dog Sam gave his wag of approval)
