Pet care experience
I am a qualified and experienced pet sitter and animal behaviourist (B.Sc) with 7 years experience working in boarding and rescue kennels with both dogs and cats, as well as previous roles as a zookeeper and carnivore keeper, working with both small and large animals. I have walked dogs and cared for pets in both my own and client's homes for a number of years and have had my own cats and dogs. I currently don't have a pet (too much travelling for work) and am therefore keen to make time to be around animals still, and provide a loving sitter for pets while their owners are away. I know how stressful it can be leaving your pets as I have had to do it myself, and I know it makes a huge difference if they can stay in their own home and if they have someone who really cares about getting to know their personality and giving them the best time. I am competent in dealing with behavioural issues and am happy to tailor my routine to their needs. In addition I am a fully trained canine first aider.

I cannot rate Debs and Tom highly enough. Lovely people. They were brilliant with my dogs and not in the slightest daunted by their challenges. Both the dogs adored them and were not bothered by our absence at all. We were therefore able to enjoy our time away knowing that they were being well looked after. And we returned to happy dogs and a well looked after home too. Superb
I was very pleased to find Debs who has walked our dog twice now. She clearly loves dogs and our dog is very happy with his walks. Debs was prepared to travel a bit further for us when we really needed an occasional walker and has been very reliable and friendly. Highly recommended!
We are delighted to have founds Debs. Our experience couldn't have been better. Our big puppy Alfie was so well looked after and was a very happy dog. Debs kept him safe and entertained and took note of all the info we gave her about Alfie. We have no hesitation in recommending her.
Our dog, Monty, had a fantastic afternoon with Debs exploring local walks. He was exhausted in a good way, really got to use up his Spaniel energy, and we look forward to having Debs back very soon.

I am best equipped at the moment to sit or visit/ walk from your own home, and this would be my first preference. I am situated on the Roseland Peninsula but am often in Truro, Penryn and Falmouth, so very happy to cover those areas. Please note - if you live more than a reasonable distance from this part of Cornwall, I would need to add on the cost of petrol. My partner and I are very keen walkers, so love to take our clients out for daily adventures, often to the beach or on the local footpaths. I am happy to walk dogs on or off-lead as preferred, or can offer ball games and play for those better suited to that kind of activity, or even just a visit and some cuddles in their own space. I specialise in fun-filled doggy days out where I often have multiple dogs together, meaning they get excellent socialisation plus are always exhausted when they get home! But get in touch and we can discuss your unique pet.

Information Debs A. would like to know about your pet
It is important for me to know all about your pet's daily routine so I can keep them happy and content. Likes and dislikes allow me to keep them as comfortable as possible, as every dog (and cat!) is different! I will ask about diet and medication, temperament, current training, any behavioural issues, health, mobility, age, history and breeding status... amongst other things. It is important to mention any issues as I will not turn a dog down because of them, but it is very helpful to know ahead of time. Please also have handy information on vaccinations and parasite treatments.
A typical day
Walks, runs, swims, playtime and cuddles. From beaches to footpaths, open fields to the woods. I have also used fenced dog parks on occasion to allow dogs that can't be let off-lead an off-lead experience. I can also offer help with training.

Availability
I am self-employed and working on a PhD, which means I can work from home most of the time.. so I have plenty of time to fit in walks and games, and I can also arrange to stay at home so pets will not be left alone for hours at a time.
