My name is Debra and I'm a life-long dog owner. I strive to provide a "home away from home" for your dog when you travel, or you need doggie day care for days you are away from home. I also love 'drop in' visits for cats or dogs in my area that are more comfortable staying in their home environment but need walks, feeding and a friendly face to keep them company. I focus primarily on smaller socialized dogs, under 25 lbs. Senior dogs, and dogs with special needs are also welcome. I prefer long stay hosting and repeat day care bookings -- where I can really get to know your pup(s) and your family to provide the very best, personalized care. *Dogs over 25 lbs. may be considered on an exception basis for an additional fee. I live in the Gulf Gate Estates area on a quiet road with beautiful sidewalks surrounding my block perfect for leisurely doggie walks. For visitors to Siesta Key, I’m about 1.8 miles away if you head over the South Stickney Bridge. I have a 2000 sq. ft. 2-bedroom home with a pool and picturesque preserve in the back. I work from home, so dogs are not left on their own. All dogs have the run of my dog-friendly home, even being allowed to lounge on couches and beds. I have thoroughly dog-proofed every room, so it is safe for even the most curious. In addition, my floors are all hard surfaces. So, if there are any doggie accidents and your dog isn't completely house trained --- that's no problem. I keep my routine easy and dog focused. My home is great if you are here for the winter and your condo or vacation rental isn't pet friendly. My home will be your dog's second home while you take in the beaches, golf or visit the area amusement parks. And you can visit anytime, always knowing your dog won't be caged or in a sterile and often overwhelming boarding environment. Whatever your preferences treats/toys/meals, I will follow to keep your dog on his/her routine. I welcome any dog - small or medium - that enjoys playing in a small friendly pack. I have two dogs - two very sweet Havanese - about 12 lbs each. Buster is my shadow and loves to help me around the house. Bootsie is a little princess and stays perched in her doggie sofa unless tempted to play or get a treat. Both of dogs enjoy meeting new dogs on our morning and evening walks and especially love playing in groups at home or the park. Over the years, I have lost many dogs to old age ---- and fully attuned to the special needs of senior dogs. I can administer any special medications, extra touch or even a private corner space where they can take extra-long naps. My dogs are gentle, friendly and non-aggressive. There’s never any biting or aggressiveness in this tranquil home where dogs are treated like cherished family members. While I can accept any breed, all dogs must have a friendly temperament and be socialized with other dogs. I often take dogs for long stays - weeks or even a month or more at a time. Many of my dog owners tell me that I’m the only reason that they feel comfortable taking long vacations - knowing their dog is comfortable and safe in a home environment. I can send photos and videos of your dog to send you throughout the day by text or email so you can keep up on our activities and stay connected. I do Rover part time and for my love of dogs.
