Your family are my family❤️

Pet care experience

Professional, energetic, experienced, attentive, patient, calm and loving MSN with extensive knowledge of animal and human behavior. It’s easy to recognize a pet lover because our entire demeanor lights up when we’re around your babies, no faking our joy! Your babies are always welcome in our family, their needs are our priority. We are educated with regards to different pet breeds and their specific needs. We’re also experienced with special needs pets, epileptics and seniors etc, as well as being knowledgeable and practiced with the administration of medication application/dosage. Post surgery pets welcome. Comfort and love given to all, most especially those with separation anxiety, emotional scars, fear of loud noises, or just feeling under the weather. Emergency Care Plans are in Place for emergency situations. For example, if your pet runs away, get sick, ingests poison, we know who to call, where to go and how to respond, we will take your vet details and adhere to your wishes. We know that pet sitting is about so much more than feeding and walking your pet. As a pet parent, you want to know how your pet/s are doing especially if you have to be away for long stretches of time. We put your heart at ease by communicating with you frequently and by texting photos of your pet/s throughout the day giving you fun daily activity updates. We’ll even call you, so that your pet can hear your voice on the phone :) Lastly, you’ll be looking for a pet sitter that has a presence that pets are drawn to, and are able to put your pet at ease. We want your pet/s to have positive chemistry with us, we encourage you to interview us along with your pet/s to watch our interaction and that of your pet/s. Oh what fun! Can’t wait to meet your family! And if you need further convincing... How many of the following apply to you? We’d say if you answer “yes” to at least half of them, you qualify as a real dog person! You know you’re a real dog person when: You sometimes limit your out-of-the-house social activities because you feel guilty leaving your dog home alone. You can sit stone-faced through a movie or TV show where people are being killed — but if someone hurts a dog, you leave the room and burst into tears. You often make special trips to a supermarket to buy cheese sticks and peanut butter — for your dog. When the annoying person you’ve been dodging for months suddenly tells you they just got a puppy, you instantly become their new best friend. You can recognize your dog’s bark among a crowd of dogs. You always leave some food on your plate — just so your dog can lick it. You go to bed earlier than you’d like so you have time to exercise your dog before leaving for work in the morning. Your friend comments on how attractive that man or woman is — but all you notice is the dog they’re walking. You sleep with your knees practically touching your forehead, or your legs hanging off the bed, because your dog likes to spread out. You make do with the couch at night because your dog likes the recliner. When people show you photos of their kids, you politely say, “How nice” — but you “ooh” and “aah” when you look at dog photos. When you see a dog left inside a car in a parking lot on a hot day, you review your formerly pacifistic feelings about the death penalty. When you were a kid and a friend invited you over to play, if they had a dog, you ignored the friend and spent the whole time petting the dog. You love the smell of puppy breath. You’ve had the worst day of your life and you’ve been snapping at everyone, but the sight of your wagging dog can make you feel less like crap — and can even make you smile. You’ve actually cancelled (or refused to consider) vacations because you couldn’t stand the thought of boarding your dog. When you’ve taken a vacation, you’ve spent an inordinate amount of time worrying if your dog is OK. You know what the Puppy Bowl is. When people ask who your best friend is, you wonder if it’s OK to say it’s your dog. When someone compliments you on your dog, you instantly like them and consider them an intelligent person. When people ask you why you still have that ripped up chair, torn blanket, etc., your answer is, “Because my dog likes it.”

Our pups were so happy under Deborah’s care. They were spoiled by the walks and all the love. Deborah is a kind and caring person and it showed with how our dogs (and kids!) responded to her. She was super communicative and sent pics and updates. She gifted us with flowers as well and it was such a treat. We highly recommend Deborah!

Deborah was very patient getting to know Sadie which was very much appreciated. She has been reliable and communicative - and each time she's walked Sadie, she's sent a follow-up message and pictures. Very happy with the personal service!

Deborah has been an amazing addition to our family and we’re just beginning. She’s been responsive and accountable and thorough. While getting ready for a long homesit, she’s suggested so many things including meetups, walks, and playtime together so our big German Shepherd was familiar with her. We appreciated all the updates and pictures since we always miss our big guy when we’re away, and feel so comfortable having her around him

Deborah is absolutely wonderful. Constantly taking our Great Dane on walks, giving him love and attention, and sending us pictures and updates. Left our house perfectly clean. Such a comfort to know Drago is so well loved while we are away

Exactly as you wish! I enjoy nature, walks are the perfect way to take that in and enjoying it with animals who would otherwise be grounded is a plus indeed! Varying activities keep it interesting, enjoying a change of scenery by exploring different local walking or hiking trails do just that. Clean, fresh bowls of water are always accessible to keep your pet cool, hydrated, and healthy. Please always ensure pets are wearing tags and are microchipped, and that the microchip is registered and your contact information is up to date. It is also a good idea to register your pet with Finding Rover or another similar organization.

Medical/special needs and behaviors. Pets with health issues may require special diets. Specific nutritional and dietary needs differ between pups, kittens and seniors. Table scraps are typically not good for dogs and cats because many of the foods we eat, such as salt, garlic, and onions are bad for your pet’s health and can make them sick or even be fatal. Overfeeding your pet or giving too many treats could lead to obesity, which could consequently trigger more health problems such as heart disease, renal problems, and more. Weigh options when it comes to pet food to avoid these kinds of illnesses — and if you don’t exactly know what foods are best for your pet, it’s a great idea to ask the opinion of your vet!

A typical day

Most dogs were originally bred for a purpose and were intended to have a job. Today, for many dogs their only “job” is to eat, drink, and take naps while waiting for you to come home from work. Dogs need both physical and mental stimulation, applying their senses, brains, and muscles to explore, experience, and learn new things. Dogs that stay cooped up inside all day get bored and look for ways to entertain themselves. What humans often label “behavioral problems” or signs of separation anxiety are things dogs are naturally wired to do such as scavenge, chew, dig, bark, and get into things. Animals require a certain amount of physical and mental stimulation no matter the age or health status, with your guidance I will provide the care you recommend and suggest some other fun enjoyable playtime activities such as; treasure hunts, scent games and treat dispensing toys. Our pets are as individual as people and will vary in the amount of exercise they need and in what kinds of activities interest them. Exercise can be viewed as a spectrum, ranging from their most basic needs, like daily walks (a universal favorite!), to other intense activities that you will advise me of. Interactive play is very important for pets who need active "people time." By focusing on a specific task, like repeatedly returning a ball or Frisbee, or playing "hide-and-seek" with treats or toys, we can expel pent-up mental and physical energy. This greatly reduces stress due to confinement, isolation and/or boredom. For young, high-energy and untrained dogs, interactive play also offers an opportunity for socialization and helps them learn about appropriate and inappropriate behavior with people and with other animals.

I teach remotely part time, way too much time on my hands not to be building relationships with and spoiling our best friends. Pets benefit from socialization, whether that’s regular interaction with their families, having guests come over, or trips outside of the house, expanding their horizons and improving their people skills while helping them to safely experience new things is invaluable! Although many of our pets love toys, sharing activities, playtime or even obedience training (when handled with patience and positive reinforcement) are far more stimulating than any toy ever could be. All are factored into daily routines as you wish.
