Hi! My name is Debbie and I am an experienced dog lover and the proud owner of 2 four-legged doggies. I grew up with a dog as a child, but really developed my passion and experience with dogs when I became involved in rescuing animals over 15 years. It all started when I rescued my senior dog, Dakota, who has since passed. I have a 6 year old mischievous dog named Pickles and a 2 year old free-spirited dog named Bella. Pickles found his way into our home because he was given to us by a family that was moving to Florida and could no longer keep him. After taking him in, I quickly learned that he was a resource guarder, so we kept him and learned to manage the behavior. Our newest addition is Bella. She is my daughter's dog, but we all know who the primary caretaker is ;). Through my many years of experience in rescue, I've come across all types of personalities. I have always committed myself to caring for each and every animal in the rescue like I would my own personal pet. I have fostered many dogs and been involved in saving the lives of over 2000 dogs. Many of the families that have adopted my fosters have stayed in touch with me. While these dogs have happy endings, not every dog was easy to undertake. Some animals that came to me with behavioral issues or medical issues. I also love our kitty friends and take care of them as well. My husband's mother is a big cat lover, so we help her take care of her cats. I have several cat clients and love all of them. I understand that cats do not do well with change. For this reason, I give our cat friends plenty of space and time to adjust to a new stranger in their home. If you need me to play with your cats, I am comfortable and happy to do so. If you just need the basics of cleaning litter boxes and changing water and food bowls, I would be happy to assist you. I am sharing all of this with your family because I want you to know how much I care for animals. I understand that not every pet has perfect behavior. I can recognize when a pet isn't acting right and needs to see a vet. I have no issues with giving medication to your pet and I do not charge extra to do so. I am patient, understanding and willing to work with families and the needs their pet requires. I am currently a stay at home mom, so I have a flexible schedule. I also promise to send photos or videos daily so you can see how your furry family members are doing while you are away!
