Pet care experience
We are dog people thru and thru who lost our beloved Golden Retriever to kidney cancer and haven't decided yet on the next dog who will win our hearts. "Buddy" (yes, named after Air Bud by our youngest son!) was THE BEST DOG EVER and we miss him still. Would love to care for your dogs and get to know them in our country neighborhood in Lumberton where we have a large fenced back yard so there is plenty of room to chase a ball! We are empty nesters now so it would be wonderful to hear the pitter patter of little paws around the house again. We get to visit with our daughter's sweet lab whenever she's in town (that's her in some of the pics), but really miss having a furry four-legged pal around more often. Our schedule is perfect for weekend getaways, even last minute trips, and we can absolutely take care of your vacation needs. While we are hosting your pets they are considered part of our family. We try to stick with the routines they are used to at home like whether they’re allowed on the furniture, etc., but we can’t promise they won’t return home a little spoiled. That’s what “grandpawrents” do!!

A typical day
Our neighborhood is perfect for walks and is very low traffic. We also have a large fenced back yard that has seen many hours of fetch and doggie playtime chasing birds and squirrels. During warmer months we’ll also set up wading pools. Inside play is whatever they enjoy from squeakie toys to more fetch to snuggle time.

My husband is a retired high school teacher and coach who is home during the day, is great with dogs and will even continue any training or exercise routines they are used to if requested.
