Trustworthy & Loving Dog Care

Pet care experience

Yes, I am vaccinated. I've taken care of dogs for a dog rescue (Pepper Foundation, Studio City), know first aid, geriatric care & have had many of my own. I've had pets since a child. I know First Aid & even earned a First AID/CPR certificate. My little Heidi, my minny unwanted dassy originally given to me as a birthday gift, not wanted by her owners cause she had a small bald spot and wasn't perfect, lived until 19 yrs old and my Cat Munchkin lived until 23 yrs old (unusual long age). I've fostered many dogs for the Pepper Foundation who typically rescues unwanted geriatric special needs dogs but also fostered puppies as well. I know all about giving fluids, meds, and have certain med supplies here, just per chance. I've cared for dogs at owner's homes and know about meds if needed. I understand sensitivity and kindness, good care & responsible attention to your best friend(s). I won't let anything happen to your fur baby. Will go by your rules too. I am near various vets, have large yard for play, no pool or danger, covered patio, and possibly another small/med size zen dog to play with. I worked with lots of doggies with and without disabilities all unique needing individualized attention and diets. I've worked with puppies who need lots of love. I've worked with other animals as well: Cats, a squirrel, and birds. I have different rooms, per chance you have a dog that needs a certain type of serenity. I have air conditioning and evap cooling here and heat in the winter. You can't leave a dog outside in very cold temps or very hot temps. You also cannot leave them in a car in the heat. The heat will heat up in one minute in a car. I have security cameras here on the property, in the yard, allover the front of my house as well and an alert system if I need it. I'm currently at home finalizing my MFA college degree in fine art. I paint dog portraits as well. I have lots of time to give care and a free-styled 24 hour a day schedule. I study at my own pace at home so I have time to give your pets attention and keep an eye on them. I have a secure fenced yard, outdoor cams, dogs can stay indoors, have doggy door, living room and couch, and no carpet here. Can visit your home to walk and feed dog, am trustworthy, permanent home, honest character, caring, concerned with the health of your fur baby, medically aware, know first aid for animals, and know how much your love your pet. I do not believe in hitting a dog or cat "to train them" what so ever and believe you can train a dog best with patience and love. They learn much better when you consider their feelings. They do not like feeling fear or humiliation. I also don't believe in hitting the floor with a newspaper as some do, if a doggy urinates on the floor. That only teaches them fear; you want to teach them they they are loved and it's ok instead. It's somewhat quite here much of the time. I have tennis balls that my dog likes to play with. Dogs need to know they can trust you first of all and that they will get fed, be able to play and relax, and have a place to nap and rest. They need to know they are safe in their environment and no one is going to harm them. Sometimes it takes a little while to earn a dog's trust so one has to earn it.

Thank you so much Debbie for taking great care of Kevin today. It was so heartwarming to see him wag his tail as we entered your house!

Thank you so much Debbie for all your kindness and patience today with Kevin. I am glad it all went smoothly after I left him. I think he didn't wan't to leave your house today when he refused to move from your front porch! Thank you again!

Debbie is a caring doggie day care provider! We have a rescue poodle mix who is insecure and she did great with Debbie, all day. Debbie's house is great, and her yard is big. Her own dog is a true gentleman. Our Sesame will be with Debbie on most Fridays and we are very happy we found her, our first dog sitter.

Information Debbie D. would like to know about your pet

What diet does the dog need, temperament, if the dog is a chewer on items, such as pillows or furniture, if the dog has special needs, such as certain meds, certain rest hours, if your dog has any allergies, how much supervision would your dog require and need, and if your dog is incontinent. Rabies vaccination is known to be dangerous for geriatric dogs though, so no requirement there. There has not been a dog with rabies that anyone knows of nationally for over 40 years. Does your doggy have basic vaccinations. I understand it's not healthy to get rabies vacs for senior dogs, cause the rabies vacs are known to cause health issues. I probably wouldn't take your highly valuable doggy outside in public for a public walk, cause of the known dog nappings that have taken place on public streets with valuable breed types of dog(s). I have a nice sized yard to do that with security cameras.

A typical day

Depending on what the owner requests, we can play ball in my yard, I have a tiny doggy swimming pool I can fill with water if the dog likes water, we can go to the dog park locally, but because of the heat or cold temps, probably not real good for the dog, so we can go in my yard instead and also play inside the house. We can play with various doggy toys I have here like frisbee, special doggy bones that don't break into pieces (not real bones), and maybe a back and belly rub. Your dog can snooze whenever she/he wants to.
