Pet care experience
We will care for your dog like it was our own! We know what it is like to have to leave your dog with someone for the first time, or just any time, when you are use to spending so much time with them. So, we strive to make sure that we care for your dog the way we would want someone to care for ours. We started taking care of friends' dogs many years ago and word spread. So, we decided to make it official and started our business, The Dog House, in 2015. We were always thinking about getting another dog and just couldn't decide what type, what age, how big. We then realized, if we take care of other peoples dogs, we get to interact with a lot of different types of dogs and can have our "another dog(s)" fix. Seth volunteered for awhile at the local animal shelter and there he gained experience working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. We have successfully cared for dogs with food aggression, separation anxiety and high energy. Someone is always home and usually, that is Seth as he is the "primary dog caregiver." We live in the woods, our yard (half acre - see photo) is a wonderful place for dogs to explore. We are close to many places to take dogs for short or long, easy or hard walks, so we are able to give each dog the level of exercise that is right for them. We are dedicated to making sure your dog feels safe a secure in our home and will provide texts and photos during their stay to make sure you can also feel safe and secure in leaving your pup in our care. We rarely take more than one person’s dog(s) at a time to make sure we can provide the individualized attention they each deserve. Put simply... we love dogs and would love to meet yours! Debb and Seth are wonderful. Perfect solution for when our dog needs a place to be when we’re out of town. She literally refused to get out of Debb’s car when it was time to be dropped off at home. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Debb and Seth are the best pet sitters! They used to watch our senior dog years ago, and we finally got the chance to bring our new young dog to them while we went on a much-needed vacation. We couldn't be happier with his temperament when he comes home, and he has a blast while there. Debb and Seth give the perfect amount of play, structure, stimulation, and cuddles that our dog needs, and we get to enjoy our time knowing he's in capable hands.
Deb and Seth take great care of Cozy. We love seeing pics of Cozy’s mountain adventure while we are away. Highly recommend Deb and Seth!

As mentioned, at least one of us is always available to make caring for your dog a priority. Our yard is fenced and although we allow dogs to come in and out at their leisure, we are always keeping an eye on them, especially when they are new to us. Our home is small and so we are able to keep a close eye and/or ear on each dog in the house.

Information Debb & Seth B. would like to know about your pet
It is always helpful to know what commands your dog may know, but more importantly, how to read your dog's unique language and preferences. How will we know if your dog wants to go out? What does your dog do to get your attention? Where do they like to sleep? What is the routine at home? Do they have a favorite treat or a game they like to play? Are you okay with them being on the couch or the bed? (We are! But if you would rather them not have that habit, we will keep to your preferences while they are in our home.) The more we know, the quicker we can make sure they feel right at home.
A typical day
We like to take walks/hikes in the woods and have many favorite spots close to our house. Even just going for a long walk around our neighborhood will feel like a walk in the woods. We like to play games with the dogs (catch, tug, chase, find it) but always take care to ensure that the dogs play well with one another. We enjoy spending time at home, gardening and playing in the yard, and at the end of the day, like to curl up on the couch to watch a movie.

Our work schedules and lifestyle enable us to ensure that at least one of can be home with the dogs at all time. We have a routine with our own dog (feeding, walks and outings) such that we can incorporate other dogs easily.
