I’m a dog mom to a beautiful Boxer named Stella, and without a doubt she is my best friend. Stella’s two older brothers passed because of old age in the last couple of years and I’m still reeling from the loss. There’s nothing worse than losing a dog––I don’t think you can completely get over it, even with another wonderful furry friend. In any case, I’m trying my hardest to be the best dog mom to Stella, and nothing would bring me greater joy and purpose than to welcome new dogs into my life after such a heavy loss. I’ve had to confront some difficult things in life, but I always come out stronger and more grateful for what I have and the loving family I’ve created. The first dog to come into my life was when I was four years old. From there, there have always been dogs and other animals by my side, from small breeds to Great Danes, from cats to lizards. Right now there is Stella and Cece, a Russian Tortoise. I got her when she was six months old and now she is almost seven! In the summer, I plant a small garden just for her so she can get lots of sunshine and fresh plants for sustenance. In the winter, she has a special light to keep her healthy and I only feed her fresh vegetables. No animal is too small for tender loving care. My best friend is an amazing veterinarian and even owns her own animal hospital. I worked for her for many years and learned so much about providing excellent and humane animal care. It’s one thing to be empathetic toward animals, and it’s another to rehabilitate them after a traumatic injury or illness. I’ve worked with her on many surgeries and cared for the animals she boarded for her clients, I can honestly say that I’m qualified to be a safe and nurturing caretaker for your beloved pup. I’ve been told I have a natural, loving touch, and it would be an honor and pleasure to have your pup join my little family for a short or long stay.
