ABOUT ME: Called a cat whisperer with a magnet for animals in need, I’m a semi-retired teacher who has helped save various types of animals all my life & amaze many with pet bonding & relative cat obedience but adore all animal types. Many pets warm up to me fairly quickly that never socialize much and fear most people. I usually quickly gain various animals’ trust, love, loyalty, & affection & am great with most, especially cats & dogs. SOME EXTRAS & BONUSES: As a trustworthy house-sitter who knows what having one can be like in my own house, I’ll also take in your mail/packages & water your plants (at no extra charge unless enough plants for a mini-jungle). COMFORT: Your pets will be as safe & comforted as possible when with me & I'll spend ample time with them so long as I feel the same at your place. READ NOTE BELOW UNDER ‘SAFETY, TRUST, ENVIRONMENT’ if you need HOUSESITTING! DOG WALKING; MAY ENTAIL BONUSES &/ OR EXTRA COSTS: We can have fun at nearby doggy parks or nice scenery, if applicable, or by playing in your home or yard when possible. My drop in visit & house sitting costs EXCLUDE dog walking unless negotiated. Because I handle both cats & dogs, add $10 p/visit to those rates if I’m expected to do that vs. let them out in a preferably enclosed yard or bring them outside for more than a block to do their business. SPECIAL TREAT BONUSES &/OR EXTRA COSTS: Given time, they can look forward to affection, a pet massage, treats, & perhaps me trying to sing lullabies as I rock them to sleep after bedtime chats if desired 😂. Negotiable $10 extra for each brushing p/dog & $20 bathing rate may vary based on weight p/dog & is available during my idea of “house-sitting” or longer stay drop ins. HOLISTIC PET CARE: I’ve learned a lot of priceless gems applying holistic pet care at times for cats & dogs, if interested. I’ve shared my house & yard with cats & my 2nd dog since my former beloved one who helped me raise many of them rescued as kittens as Mr. Mom is with the angels now. AGAIN, SEE NOTE below under SAFETY, TRUST, & ENVIRONMENT if you need HOUSESITTING BESIDES WHAT’S DIRECTLY ABOVE. TLC BONUSES: I talk to, pet, & play with animals regularly, given time & their temperament, so they feel as valued & loved as they usually instantly are. As long as I'm comfortable there & w/them, I may likely provide extra TLC/time unless requested not to because I know firsthand how anxious many pets are without their humans.

DeAnna was always quick to respond and very polite and friendly. DeAnna and our cat didn’t get along, and she was helpful by contacting rover to request a replacement cat sitter asap and was very prompt and helpful in making sure our cat was still taken care of.
DeAnna checked in on our cats while we were out of town, and she was fantastic. She was reliable, responsible and courteous. We felt very comfortable with our cats being under her care and would absolutely love to reach out to her again in the future.
DeAnna was wonderful with our cats. Before she came, we told her she'd likely never see one of our cats because he's extremely shy and hides from strangers. But, every day, she sent pictures of him and the rest of the cats playing with her and letting her pet him! DeAnna checked in each day, sent pics of her filling the water bowls and scooping the cat box, and sent tons of pics of the cats being happy and adored and played with. She also brought in packages and kept a watchful eye on the house. Would definitely recommend!
DeAnna was an absolute dream. She made my two kitties, who are typically quite anxious around strangers, feel comfortable, taken care of, and loved while we were away. For every check in at our house she sent thorough updates filled with 20+ pictures (each visit!) that brought my heart so much joy. My scaredy cats weren’t scared! They were eating, playing, showing affection, and being their normal quirky selves. DeAnna goes above and beyond and will quickly form a bond with your fur babies. I’m beyond grateful for the comfort she gave us while we were away.?? Oh! And when we met up with her to pick up the keys to our house, she gifted us with freshly cut flowers from her garden. ?She’s a beautiful human with a beautiful soul that animals can clearly pick up on.

SAFETY, TRUST, & ENVIRONMENT for HOUSESITTING: For safety & privacy & because of Covid, I’m willing when able to stay for a minimum agreed upon amount of hrs. but not comfortable with overnight unless the unlikely event I feel VERY safe, cozy, comfortable, & secure in doing so. I must be able to trust that I will be protected in private moments as well & don't mind spending hours daily in a decent home for house sitting under those conditions but must feel fully comfortable & safe for overnight stays (which’ll likely have .1% chance of happening). We can discuss this further & some things mentioned may have changed since time of posting but THERE MUST BE SECURE LATCHES + LOCKS ON ALL ENTRANCES, including window locks. PROVIDE THE # TO YOUR SECURITY, FRONT DESK, LANDLORD, &/or SUPERINTENDENT, IF APPLICABLE, in case of emergency 🆘. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ELSE SHOULD HAVE KEYS THAT CAN ENTER WHILE YOU’RE AWAY!!! (2 prior incidents were ENOUGH)! During meet & greet, please show me where applicable fire extinguishers & any other life saving devices such as escape ladders from upper floors are just to be on the safe side.

INSTRUCTIONS: I’ll do my best to carefully follow all instructions. Just be sure to have detailed ones in writing, preferably on the app where requested. Who should be contacted in case of pet illness or other emergencies, such as a superintendent, plumber, your mom, or pet’s godparents? Let me know in advance if plumbing etc. issues & please have paper towels available in your bathroom/kitchen. VET INFO: Please fill out vet details in case of emergency on the app & who else to contact for vet $ etc. in case of such emergency, ESPECIALLY if you’re out of the country or away w/limited contact ability. If your pet has ANY health challenges, PLEASE let me know in advance. Proof of vaccination & pet ID tag w/bells on collars is preferred for all jobs, especially if any pets go outdoors or are/may become escape artists. MEDICINES & SAFETY: I will NOT likely chance putting meds in the mouthes of aggressive pets but will try giving them in a couple of other ways. I am comfortable providing them so long as your pet is comfortable letting me administer them. Severe pet bites are extremely dangerous (you might be shocked if looking them up, especially from cats), so no pay is worth that risk but I’ll be sure to try multiple tricks in my bag for administering otherwise if shown aggression when it comes to meds. If any become too aggressive in general, I may spend less time with them or avoid interacting with them altogether to keep the peace depending on the severity but will still take care of them as best I can otherwise so long as they don’t scare the life out of me as happened on 1 occasion. PITTIES & LARGE DOGS: I prefer small to medium sized breeds but will try others so long as the dog proves friendly. I am only willing to handle big dogs if they do not: pull hard on leashes, act agressive, or jump on me. Confession: Much as I’d love to overcome the fear, I also still have persistent APPREHENSION ABOUT PIT BULLS, GERMAN SHEPARDS, & DOBERMAN PINCHERS due to so many unexpected attacks known of by them which critically or fatally harmed others. Therefore I prefer to avoid them until or unless totally convinced of their safety. TRAINING: I’d like knowing how potty trained & trained otherwise all pets are. Have they ever bitten, scratched, attacked anyone, or tried to, playfully, lightly, or not? I DO NOT WANT TO SIT FOR ANY AGGRESSIVE PETS SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW for the option to decline IF SO! MEET & GREET: I look forward to & must meet you all beforehand. 1st half hour is FREE. I usually don’t mind staying longer unless noted due to schedule but after that, $20 expected p/half hour increment because time is valuable & many have lasted 2 hours.

FUNTIME: We’ll walk to doggie parks &/or the nearest scenic route depending on closeness, weather, safety, & amount of time. We’ll play tag, fetch, tug of war, &/or hide and seek, if applicable, as well. With cats, I may play ball, peek a boo, hockey, string, & puppets + they may get to enjoy catnip/treats on occasion. We’ll have lots of great conversations (even if they turn out to be monologues ? & we’ll likely learn how well they catch/find treats.

SCHEDULE: You'll likely be pleased with the time & care given to your pet(s) unless they conflict with info. below: If accepted after meet & greet, I’ll come up to twice per day for sitting. I’ll bring any dog(s) out up to twice per visit only if need be, especially for puppies. I may have sufficient time otherwise but prefer late mornings & before dark any time of week. If needed in early mornings, evenings, or night, the schedule may be a conflict, especially if you’re further than 10 miles from where I am either in Rocky Point or a home in Wilmington I may stay at for petsitting (unless maybe offering far more). If I send you a GPS pic showing YOU’RE MORE THAN 10 MILES from either place before our meet & greet, let’s discuss fair & agreeable extra convenience fee for time & gas I’ll be commuting that day & throughout the job, especially if I’m working otherwise then. SAME AS DIRECTLY ABOVE IF I MUST PAY for PARKING &/or YOU’RE NOT IN A HOME WITH AMPLE EASE & AVAILABILITY of PARKING such as your own private driveway, lots of spots on your block near entrance, or it otherwise takes several minutes to get from my car into your home. Considering safety, my own multiple pets including spoiled dog 🐶 😅, & that I may be working remotely or not, AN AGREED UPON MINIMUM # of HOURS P/DAY is the MOST I’LL LIKELY DO vs. OVERNIGHT scheduling. I’ll hopefully break my own dog’s separation anxiety soon & must balance those needs with your own pet(s). If I do consider being there overnight house sitting for you, “please consider possibility” of my small 14 lb shih tzu dog coming leashed & in a carrier to stay with me if there’s a room or place (that doesn’t have hardwood or a rug) to keep him separated from your pet(s). Yes his spoiled butt still has tantrums that include relieving himself on the floor or carpet on occasion when mad at me (usually for leaving him) but if not another available room like a bathroom, I’ll keep him in his carrier during the likely 2-4+ hrs housesitting p/day so your pet(s) & he should be fine.
