I love and have a heart for dogs!

Pet care experience

I have love and a big heart for dogs. They are adorable, playful, and always have love to give. I believe all dogs are trainable and that it matters how their owner does so to turn there dog into the most lovable they can be. I still have lots to learn about caring for animals, but I am a quick learner and have practice with family dogs, as well as my newly adopted doggy. You can read more about them, below. I am willing to house sit, take dogs for walks, and care for dogs with their unique needs. Eventually, when I get to know how my dog interacts with other dogs, I would also like to socialize her with your dog, if that is something you are interested in. I picked out my family's first dog when I was 14. Her name was Ruby and she was a black and white Pomeranian (probably a mix). She recently passed away. I remember how cute she was, as a little cotton ball, and how much joy she brought to my family. We raised her into a loving and sweet doggy. She was a yapper and a little too anxious at times, but she was adorable, loved to play, and was super comfy on beds, pillows, and dirty laundry :-/. I miss her, but I am happy she is no longer suffering from pain she experienced. She had a form of cancer, issues with her teeth and hips, and a couple other complications. But, I am happy she led a full life of 12 years. My dad adopted a dog, about two years after adopting Ruby. His name is Lil' Camper and he is a black and white Papillon, at about 10 or 11 years old. He is not so much a yapper, loves fetch and laying at your feet, and is the perfect companion for my dad. He has had problems with his kidney, turning him into a little meatball at one point, but he is doing well now. I have had the pleasure dog-sitting for both Ruby and Camper over the years. But, I am excited that I finally adopted my own dog, Zoei, about a month ago. Long story short, I adopted her from the Polk County Animal Control Shelter. She is about two years and four months old. She is a black lab mix. They had to basically give her eye lifts because of entropion in both eyes, but her eye lids have healed nicely and the fur has almost grown back. She is FULL of energy. She loves running with you, giving lots of hugs and kisses, and meeting new people and dogs. She is highly trainable and a work in progress. She knows sit, stay, lay down, to wait for her food and entering a door way, and turn around (spin).

Deanna is a great sitter, our shadow stayed with her for 6 days while on vacation. She stayed in contact sending updates and numerous pics . Putting us at ease while being away. Shadow was fine and enjoying his stay . She was very attentive and engaging with him..shadow was so happy and his disposition was very good when we arrived for pick up. We can tell he enjoyed his stay.. she properly cared for him. We feel very comfortable booking Deanna again , she’s definitely our go too sitter..

Like I said in my experience, I have a dog that I recently adopted and I am still trying to socialize her with other dogs, before I will bring dogs home. I take her for walks at Peterson Park and the trail, so she meets some dogs there. I'm also trying to have her play with some dogs in my apartment complex. I would be interested in socializing her with your dog, at your home, a park or trail, and hopefully my home. I am mostly looking to house sit, walk dogs, and take care of dogs' unique needs.

Information Deanna R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know how friendly with people and dogs your dog is, what kinds of medications or care they need, what kind of food and how much do they need, and what times and how frequently to walk and feed your dog. I don't have any preferences. I like all dogs.

A typical day

If walking at your home, we will walk around the neighborhood. If trails or parks are nearby, and you would like for me to walk them there, I would love to. Near my home is the Peterson Park and trail and I like to go there. Eventually, I could walk my dog Zoei with yours, too. See my profile answers for more information about my dog Zoei.

I'm currently teaching private cello and violin lessons Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings and afternoons. On Sundays till noon, I play cello and guitar and sing in Edgewood Baptist Church's Worship Band. Tuesday nights I play cello in the Florida Philharmonia Orchestra. Other than that, I drive for Uber and Lyft, so my schedule is rather open and flexible.
