8 Years of Veterinary Experience

Pet care experience

A little about me Veterinary Tech of 6 years. Stay at home mom and animal care giver of 2! Working with animals of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. I originally trained/studied hands on at a technical college for 2 years before graduating and starting my veterinary assisting career. As a child growing up my family always took in any animal in need of help or a home. My mother having the soft heart that she did, we had labradors to malamutes, pit bulls to dachshunds, beagles to chihuahuas. Chickens and rabbits. I have always had a love for animals, of all kinds. I am a nature loving outdoorsy kinda gal myself, my daughter and I usually spend our weekends rain or shine getting outside and enjoying the local parks or adventuring on hikes. Playing out in the garden or fishing are out favorites as well. We do have a fully 4-5 foot entirely fenced yard to provide safety as well as a generous back yard with plenty of space for pets to run and play while on their stay. We have a very large garden full of yummy veggie snacks for your fur baby! Smoke free, alcohol free. Clean quiet home, Located in downtown Monroe. We have central air - your pets will be in AC during this heat of the summer! 😊 also have hose and splash pad access for those water loving dogs! Lots of extra toys and balls for the fetch it lovers. I consider myself to be very realiable, trust worthy and honest as a person and as a animal owner and mom! With the background that I have i’m very familiar with giving medications of all types - oral liquids/tablets/chews you name it-I’ve given it. As well as administering sq injections/ sq fluids. Insulin shots. You do not need to stress while you are away! If your pet has diet restrictions/food allergies or if you feed a raw diet, this is something that can be upheld no problem. During Covid I took a step back from the veterinary field and have been blessed and fortunate to become a stay at home mom for my two children. My husband works as a diesel mechanic. I am home with my daughters unless we are out on a hike or adventure, we’re usually never too far! My schedule is open and flexible. I try to only take on one pet boarder at a time and keep my schedule light. If there’s anything more you’de like to know about me, my home or family, boarding or overnighting care questions, or any other questions at all, please messsge and reach out to me!

Deanna is so great! She always takes great care of my dog, giving him plenty of play, loves and treats! :) I also appreciate how detailed her Rover cards are and that she communicates if she will be late. Highly recommend her to watch your animals!

Deanna was kind and communicative about how our doggos were doing and spent a lot of time with them. When we drove up they couldn’t have looked happier running around and following her.

Deanne was great! She helped us out w boarding our cat at the last minute. Our cat is old with special needs and she was just wonderful in her handling of him.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is first, I am very cautious and confident in the ability to keep your pet safe while you’re away. We have a fully fenced yard all the way around and I am knowledgeable in reading dogs behavior and body language. I do not double book clients pets with others, this ensures your pet/s are my main focus and there will be no issues amongst the animals on their stay. I try not to have animals leave the home unless requested by the owner for transportation or walks/hikes, your pet will stay home with me unless requested otherwise for safety purposes. My own animals are docile quiet and well trained. Cats are old and mind their own. Bunny’s are either hutched and outside of the home, or caged and downstairs. When staying in your home, my daughter and step daughter will/may accompany me, we are by nature very clean people and always pick up and tidy up before we go. Animals are treated as family and loved and nurtured as our own. Above statements remain, I will not remove your animal from the home unless requested to do so. I am happy to do any additional tasks while you’re away - water your plants, garden, etc. feed chickens, farm animals, ect. Maintain any additional needs.

Information Deanna H. would like to know about your pet

Your pets health condition. Are there any health problems or issues i should be aware of while your pet stays with me that will require them to have medication? Do they have separation anxiety and cannot be left alone, food or medication allergies, any old injury’s that might affect outside play. Are they a cancer patient. Temperament/behavior would be the next thing being that I do have a 4 year old daughter. 3 kitty’s, and 1 small dog. how does your pet handle smaller children? What is their behavior around other dogs, how about cats? Are they aggressive with food/ toys/ territory. Are they sensitive to loud noises. I’de say the last thing would be is your pet house broken/ potty trained? I am able to take my pets out however often they need, be that - every hour, every 2 hours, every 4, that is fine. The biggest thing would be I would prefer no uneutered dogs that may mark around my home, if your pet has incontinence issues I will request that you bring a supply of diapers. I am familiar with all breeds, and do not have any restrictions. I would prefer to do a meet and greet first to make sure it’s a good fit and I feel comfortable/confident about your pet in my home and with my daughter and fur babies. Thank you!

A typical day

There’s a lot of trails, hiking areas, and dog parks in the area if your comfortable with us taking your pet out for daily outings, we’de be more then happy to! Pets will always be leashed at all times when out of the home for safety. If there are any activity restrictions just let me know, to take it easy with certain things (like playing ball/ running with other dogs/ etc) If your pet does not do well with other animals we do have a very large fully fenced yard and can provide excerise in the backyard. If your pet is older and just needs to be taken out for a light stroll and potty break we can maintain this aswell :) I am very flexible! And use to working with all energy levels, sizes, and demands. I keep toys and balls stocked!
