Your pet is FAMILY in my home!

Pet care experience

COZY CORNER PET SITTING - Where pups Play and Stay! * Fenced backyard in Cascades/Potomac Falls * Furniture and bed friendly * CPR/First Aid Certified * Licensed with additional Pet Insurance * No forced crating or kenneling * Temperament/Compatibility tests for all dogs * Limit of 4 similar temperament dogs for boarding * Minimum requirement of 2 night stay for Boarding and Weekends. No minimum for Daycare. * 15 mins from Dullles Airport * Pet Taxi available for pick up and drop off I am a work-from-home animal advocate and sitter! Raised in an animal oriented family, I have had dogs and/or cats, a ferret, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, snakes, and even a 4ft long, 20lb Iguana as a roommate! I let them know that I SEE them and they are loved. I let my furry family be themselves and appreciate their little quirks. I have cared for dogs with blindness, deafness, physical limitations and ailments, and diabetes, inclusive of insulin injections, oral, eye, and wound medication. I require up to date vaccinations and flea/tick treatment for all my boarding guests. I'm very safe with animals, but encourage plenty of fun time and appropriate down time too. I provide a very personal experience with your pet. They have free roam of my home.... in the kitchen with me while I cook... snuggled on the couch in the sunroom while we watch tv..... getting some sun on the deck while I'm working on my laptop..... jogging (well, kinda) on the wooded path behind my home. I have a fenced yard, used primarily for bio breaks, as it's not really big enough for multiple dog play. However, I have a 740 sq ft finished basement area to provide plenty of space for play and exercise during inclement weather. Unless requested by the client, I don't Kennel or seperate your pet (with the exception of unmanageable behavior or pups that are already crate trained). Many of my clients consider their pup's stay with me as more like a vacation, or "Dog B&B"! My home should feel like your home! I have a 9 year old dog (medium sized Rhodesian Ridgeback and Hound mix) that loves just about anything breathing! He was trained and socialized early, and eagerly welcomes human and pet friends to our home. I also live just a few miles from Dulles airport, if you're traveling and need an easy drop off/pick up location. I specialize in long term/extended stays, but will also do shorter stays of 2 or more boarding nights, as well as Day Care and Walks. Your fur baby is family, in my household and yours. ****Please note, because I have a limit of 2-3 guest dogs per boarding stay, the minimum booking requirement for boarding and weekends is 2 nights. There is no minimum for daycare. On occasion and under special circumstances, I will accept a 3rd guest dog, but two is my sweet spot. I require a Meet and Greet for ALL boarding and daycare stays in my home, to ensure the experience will be great for everyone.

I was amazed to see someone with such positive reviews on rover and it seemed like it might be too good to be true BUT dawn definitely deserves 5 stars! She’s very personable, clearly loves dogs, and super knowledgeable. You can instantly tell that she takes this very seriously and asks all the right questions. Her report card was great and definitely let me know if there were any issues going on. She’s also flexible and was able to accommodate a last minute time change. Can’t recommend her enough!

Information Dawn N. would like to know about your pet

I will need to meet your dog before any in-home or client sitting. So, please note, I cannot take last minute requests for a dog I am not familiar with. At our Meet and Greet, we will discuss your dog's behavior, under a variety of circumstances, and his/her likes and dislikes, as I assess your dog's temperament and disposition. You will also have an opportunity to observe my dog's interaction with yours. I'll tell you what you can expect in terms of what his/her day will look like and how we will close the day for the evening. I don't have any breed preferences, but I will only consider unneutered males under 1 year, on a case by case basis. Because I have a dog, it is important that our pets get along and everyone in the house understands that I am the Head of the Pack :-). If it doesn't appear that we have the right fit, we don't have to move forward, as we want it to be a fun and safe stay for everyone. My dog, Frankie, is easy going, silly, energetic, shares his toys and treats, and is happy to have other furry friends around. He even thinks cats are cool. At our Meet and Greet, you can expect him to be welcoming, likely excited, and playful if your dog is willing. However, he can also sense if your dog is shy or not willing to open up initially and he will act accordingly and not push it. He is pretty chilled through most of the day, sleeping or cuddling, but enjoys play time too.

A typical day

Walking along the trail behind my house is solace for me and your pet. When weather is a problem, we have in house play and exercise. I have a house full of toys and my dog has no problem with sharing. If there are particular activities your dog enjoys, Im open to that too. Im a cuddler, but if your pet isn't a fan of cuddles, we can find something that he/she is a fan of. I like to send daily pics and/or videos to you while your dog is visiting or Im visiting him/her.
