Pet care experience

Thanks for stopping by! Prior to contacting us, please at least read: 'About us and how we work' 'With your request we need the following' Communication hours for new requests are 8am-8pm. If dates are blocked out on our calendar, we are not only unavailable to provide services, but unavailable to review requests as well. We welcome meet and greets anytime even if you're not planning to book for a while! If we have already met you and your pet(s) we are more apt to be available should you have a last minute booking request. If we have not met you and your pet(s), please understand lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part (just as we wouldn't cancel on you last minute) :). We now offer leash training (loose leash walking) for a nominal fee! ------------------------------------------- ***𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤*** ------------------------------------------- - When we're available to book I work from home during the week with breaks every 1-2 hours plus an hour lunch. - Being an engineer (I call myself an engineer with personality ha) we uphold the ethics of the engineering profession when pets are under our care; there is intent as to how we do things here, from setup and structure to analyzing situations and solving potential problems so we can have a fun, comfortable, engaging, and happy environment for all. It's not a random free for all :) - We see it as a tremendous honor putting your trust in us and we uphold that in its entirety with fun! - We practice active attention here to understand the ins and outs of their individual unique personality for a personalized experience - We understand the extra care and attention needed with disabilities and medical conditions requiring medications and prioritize those requirements without a second thought - Breeds are less important than how a dog is raised, as how a dog is raised is a reflection of yourself too :). We like to mesh well with the doggies and the owners in how we run our business. - We respect whether your pet would like to make new friends with other doggies that may be in our care or prefer more quiet time. We accomplish both even during the busy holidays! - We are conscientious about the photos in our profile that show the environment your doggies will be in (not showing an array of selfies as if this was serving as a dating app to evaluate my looks, ha!) - We don't do this as a random job just to make money, our priority is offering a home of love rather than a kennel - We do not ask or expect anything we cannot or are not willing to do ourselves and seek that in return, with that: 1. My dog is mostly good and respects authority including recall and not being aggressive with food/toys/ things he shouldn't have. If your doggy does not respect authority, and/or is not mostly good, we may not be a good fit as extra charges may be incurred. We cannot ethically charge the same price for doggies that have been appropriately trained or are actively in process of being appropriately trained. If your dog causes damage to our home we expect to be reimbursed just as I would if mine were to cause damage at someone else's home. 2. Your pets must be updated on vaccinations/ shots/ prevention. I would never take my dog to someone else's home if he was not up to date. If I did and something were to happen I would expect to be responsible for the full effects of everyone affected by me being so inconsiderate, just as we would hold you responsible for the full effects. 3. We work with clients and build relationships based on mutual respect only. If you don't respect us we cannot respect you and if you don't care about what we need, we unfortunately don't care about what you need, and thus not a good fit. We do this job for added positivity, not added stress :). 4. When we confirm a time we honor it and seek a 10 min heads up due to minor fluctuations that may occur (e.g. traffic) to adequately prepare for both drop off and pick up and arrange our schedule around what was agreed upon. We are respectful of your time so be respectful of ours, otherwise we may not be a good fit as extra charges may be incurred if we're sitting and waiting without having received updated communications :(. We appreciate your support to having a fun, healthy, safe, and comfortable environment! ------------------------------------------- ***Boarding*** ------------------------------------------- - We are not the sitter for you if your pets do not get along with dogs. Not only does a dog live here, we often have other doggies in our care. - If you desire the guarantee to be the only client we have, there will be a much higher boarding cost; note though that this will not be an option for holidays when we have more guests (no we do not take on more doggies than we can manage) - Pickup/drop off rate is for a single pick up or single drop off within a 5 mile radius. If further distance is required we will let you know the rate. Bonus, this can also include pick up / drop offs of yourself at the airport. Videos of lock up showing everything is safe and sound are always included - We offer baths for free! Well for those doggies who tolerate it :) ------------------------------------------- ***Drop-ins/walking*** ------------------------------------------- - We are not the sitter for you if requests are made for more than 2 consecutive days while you're out of town. Our ethics prevent us from allowing doggies to have such limited interaction when they would be much better off just coming over to stay with us. - If you do not need the full half hour we can work around that pricing as sometimes doggies just need to be let out just to do what they've gotta do and some kitties, or should I say most, definitely do not want to be entertained for a half hour ha - Videos of lock up showing everything is safe and sound are always included ------------------------------------------- ***House-sitting*** ------------------------------------------- - We are not the sitter for you if you expect us to pay for the boarding of my dog elsewhere rather than him coming with

Dawn was fantastic with our dog Cleo over Thanksgiving! She was very communicative with her updates and sent lots of pictures and videos. Cleo had a blast playing with the other dogs staying there. Cleo can be a tricky eater in new environments and Dawn went above and beyond, sharing some of Boomer's fish oil and toppers and got her to eat! She cares about dogs health and happiness, and we will 100% use her again in the future!

Dawn had great reviews so we decided this would be a great place to start our dogs out with a Rover; however, it was almost immediately clear that this would not be great. For starters, she responded to our request extremely late and said ‘sorry I thought I had replied’ after her stated response period on her page, which is fine, but in combination with the following missteps, it’s not really fine. Next we set up the meet and greet which she sent out the invite for stating 8:00 am even though the agreed upon time was 9, so we showed up at 8 and she told us to leave. Fine, but still another miscommunication. When the meet and greet began it was fine and the dogs got along great, but her house was extremely messy. At this point it was only a few days before the drop off date, since she responded late to our request, so we ignored these red flags. She sends you out a google form and asks about your dogs, we told her everything fully about our dogs stating that one of our dogs whines a lot and should not be left alone unless crated, and the other has anxiety with storms, she reviewed the forms and took our dogs at the drop off time. Almost immediately she began complaining about our dogs whining, him going in the crate and still whining, her unable to go to the bathroom even without him whining, our dogs waking her up at 3:30 and 5:30 to go outside, which neither of them do at home, and then more complaints constant whining all throughout the morning. In total we received 8 texts complaining about our dog. Our dogs had been there for less than 24 hours at this point, we offered getting CBD for the one dog and she said it would have to be delivered to her house, and we didn’t know how to do that. She also asked us why we didn’t send him with it initially, we didn’t send it because it has never been this much of a problem in the past. It should be noted that our dogs have been in the care of other less experienced dog watchers than Dawn, who have never complained once about his whining. Then she started telling us that she wanted to charge an hourly rate and that she was worried our dog would damage items in her house. Worried by the initial state of her house, we were scared that she would pick any random item already ruined in her house and charge us for damages. So we set out in a scurry trying to find someone who could get our dog away from Dawn who had made our vacation a world of stress by now. We communicated with her that we were going to have someone come take our dog away from her since it clearly was not working out. She then complained to us about how she can’t get anything done now because she is waiting on someone to come get our dog, when she told us earlier in the day she couldn’t even leave down the road less than 10 minutes from her house to go get the CBD for the dog, so clearly she had no plans to leave. Overall, it was a big mess. She had a horrible attitude and basically ruined our vacation, clearly was unable to handle a dog who whines, which with how many dogs she’s watched I find it had to believe that she’s never encountered a dog who whines. She found a way to complain about everything there was to do with our animals. Don’t send your dog here unless they’re perfectly behaved and have no kind of anxiety because clearly this is a stressful environment for animals. The only reasons she gets two stars is because she sent lots of pictures, and she was mildly okay with our one dog who ended up staying with her for the whole weekend, then she complained about him too when he got picked up. Maybe she’s going through a weird time, but this experience was overall awful, would not recommend her to a friend

A typical day

------------------------------------------- Answer to describe a typical day ------------------------------------------- - Playing inside and out in the fenced yard, love, updates to owners - We have a huge yard which satisfies most dogs and supplement with walks as necessary being 0.1 miles from the Greenway or walking around the neighborhood. - With this yard we have a pool, sprinkler, and hose fun (warmer months of course). Raining? They're not confined indoors the whole time. We have a awning over our patio for the necessary fresh air we need without getting soaked. - We err on the side of caution with any 'field trips' because of other drivers on the road or even the unruly dogs at the dog park I have no control over. If you desire a field trip, please let us know so we may discuss. -We also all take midday naps :)
