Pet care experience
Hi ! My name is Dawn B. & my dream job, dream life is waiting until my boys are out of middle school to move to a big piece of land outside the city & rescue all unwanted dogs ! We have 3 ourselves, one big yellow lab named Flap Jacks & his younger puppy --- Vinnie. We also have a rescue dog named JADE. I grew up with dogs & have rescued them all my life ( I am almost 50 ) ... but don't look or feel it !!! My dogs keep me YOUNG. Our normal routine is - get the boys off to school by 8 ( I have twin 8 y/old boys ) - and then take my dogs ( or dogs I am sitting ) for a good hour walk. We go to different places all the time.... since who likes to smell the same smells ? We go to Sailorville - Red Feather Trail - Cherry Glenn - DMACC lake - around the DISTRICT in Prairie Trail, Marco Frankel park --- I usually wear the dogs out so they sleep most the day while i get some work done for my other job as a in/home travel agent. Then we go for another walk to pick up the boys from school & then usually a night walk. I am NOT available to do any walks before NOON : on the weekends. during the week - i am available until school is OUT from 830am ON. We do have a fenced in yard & our home is very loving, calming & safe. Hope to hear from you !

Dawn was absolutely phenomenal! We contacted last minute in a Sunday to see if could watch our big Great Dane Thunder for the day! We were mid move from southern IA to central MN and got stuck in a snow storm so we were hoping to get everyone out of the hotel a bit. Dawn was so welcoming and eager to take care of Thunder! You could immediately tell they a dog lovers. When I dropped Thunder off all I was thinking was .. “Oh boy he is about to be spoiled!!” And he was! She took him on 2 walks! He was able to play with some other doggo friends. He was just pooped when he got back to the hotel with us. Thank you Dawn ? you guys are awesome for taking him on such short notice and giving him such a great day!

Dawn is the dog whisperer. Leo was perfectly at home in her house and I wasn’t sure he’d even want to come back home!! He loved playing with her other dogs and she even took them to play off leash together. He could not have been in better hands!
When I think of choosing who to leave my dog in the hands of while away there are 2 thoughts that immediately come to mind. First and foremost, I want the person to keep my dog safe. Keeping my dog safe from inside and outside issues takes a conscious effort accompanied by a knowledge of what items and circumstances should be avoided and/or eliminated if you have a dog around. Dawns experience of being around dogs her whole life has trained her to be aware and alert of these situations and given her the ability to adapt to changing surroundings to provide continuous quality care no matter where the location. Secondly, but almost equally important, I want my dog to be cared for in a loving and affectionate way. Dawn genuinely loves all dogs and animals and so obviously enjoys being around them. Her heart is all in when she cares for dogs and that's so important in giving me peace of mind that my beloved pet is happy while I am away. She so enjoys caring for dogs and has a lot of experience in doning so.

to come into our home - they must be friendly with other dogs. we do take in crabby dogs & thats okay if they are not POWERFUL dogs that could hurt any other dog or kid. heck, dogs are like people- not every dog is happy go lucky and we love them for whatever their temperament as long as they can't HURT another dog.
A typical day
we check out all the nearby parks in town & go to different places everyday ! I do multiple walks a day for a believe i tired puppy is a happy one -:) we love going down to sailorville in the summer !!!!
