EXPERIENCED DOG CARE

Pet care experience

I have worked in a no-kill animal shelter in Louisiana. With that, I have gained experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I have bottle fed, administered medication, groomed, and trained. I am very adept in doggy behavior and know how to give different care and attention to whatever suits the dog's needs. Whether your dog is the nervous type or the energetic type, I can actually guarantee that they will be comfortable and well taken care of here! I have a spayed female dog, named Lacey. Her temperament is calm, patient, and affectionate. Lacey is well socialized and when it comes to new dogs and people, she gets excited to meet them. Her signature trait is to grumble while being petted, I think it's her way of purring lol. I am confident that your dog will feel more at ease in a strange new place having her around. She's great at sharing her doggy beds so you may get some cute cuddle pictures of her and your pet during their stay. Donald and I both have experience with training and raising dogs. We are balanced trainers, meaning we train with positive reinforcement and short gentle corrections. Feel free to ask us about our training methods. We are happy to share some tips and tricks we've learned over time. If they aren't potty trained that is okay, because we have tile flooring and we will help with teaching your pup to go outside! We also regularly foster puppies from the Central Valley SPCA up in Fresno. Because of this, we ask that your pet is up to date on shots before boarding. Our home is a loving home and we have A BUNCH of toys here for your pet. Squeaky toys, chew toys, balls, ropes, and even toys that really engages and stimulates them mentally! We also have plenty of running space for dogs to run around in the yard and if they are more of a couch potato that works too! There is a fenced almond orchard nearby where we take the dogs to walk everyday (sometimes twice a day depending on their energy level.) The walk in total is about 2 miles long. There is so much to sniff and any dog that comes back from that walk is garunteed to be worn out and sleepy! Be prepared for pre walk and post walk pictures! We also have an XL crate that is available for your dog to have their own space if desired. We leave the crate open during the day and close it at night. If they don't need it that's fine, they can sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. We do usually allow pets on the couch but if they aren't allowed to at home we try to enforce the same rules.

My sweet Betty girl had SUCH a great time with Davisha and Donald! She’s a two year old lab and she loves her some ball throwing and open run areas - she got to so much of both there. Not only did she have a great time but Davisha and Donald were able to accommodate Betty on short notice which was a life saver!

Davisha and David were amazing! Kept us informed with great photos and videos throughout Byrdie’s stay. HIGHLY recommended! Byrdie has been sad since she left and almost feel a little jealous :) Thank you so much for taking such great care of our girl. Looking forward to having you guys watch her again in the future.

Davisha and Donald were great! This was the first time ever leaving our senior pup and they really helped set our mind at ease. From the meet and greet, to the pictures and communication they really made us feel less stressed about leaving our baby. Even with a little hiccup with our girl the first night, Davisha was positive and she was able to make our girl comfortable. We can’t thank them enough! I have already recommended them to my family and friends.

We have a 6ft tall wooden fence in the backyard and a 4ft tall wooden fence in the front. In the backyard, we have chickens that free range. They are very used to Lacey and other dogs. Usually your dog will stay in the front but we do sometimes like to let your furbaby sniff and engage the birds (while on a leash.) We find that it's a good stimulator for some dogs, especially the herding breeds as well as make more well rounded, more friendly birds.

Information Davisha & Donald T. would like to know about your pet

I have NO breed preference and will accept any and all types! I love all dogs and as long as their overall demeanor is friendly I will work them. Main questions that I always ask is how much and how often do you feed per day? If they have any allergies? Do you allow them on furniture? What training are you working on right now that I can help reinforce?

Availability

I have started school, however, I planned my school schedule so that I'm not leaving your pup alone for long periods of time. My week consists of classes that are only 2-4 hours each day. Your pup will be busy napping from their 2 mile journey through the orchard while I'm in school. Also, because of this schedule and having to leave the home, I will have to be more selective on which dogs I can take in. Donald works for the Post Office as a mail carrier. He isn't always available but he is happy to gives his share of cuddles for the pups after work.
