I helped raise our family's first dog during grade school and adolescent years and have dog sat for family and friends. I am a dog owner and enthusiast who likes to read dog books, watch dog shows on tv, and study dog breeds. I take my own dog for an hour walk each day and an hour romp in the evening. When walking dogs, I use a leash and always pick up their poop. I also use hand signals and verbal commands to instruct the dog. I pay attention to my surroundings, which includes garbage that they could eat, pedestrians, cars, bikers, and of course, other dogs.
