A Dog Saved My Life
Pet care experience
"For the best seat in the house, you'll have to move the dog." ~ Anonymous I was diagnosed with a high-functioning type of autism called Asperger's Syndrome as a teenager. It was then I got my first dog, Gretal. Over the next 15 years, she taught me how to play well with others, love unconditionally and find joy in the little things. Dogs bring me a sense of peace, making them more than deserving of the best seat in the house (just ask Pepper, boxer mix, and Rumple, shitzu-poodle mix, who can even now be seen curled up in the corner of the couch).

Information David W. would like to know about your pet
I appreciate the characteristics of all breeds and the individual personalities of every dog. It helps me to know what keeps our doggie guests happy, healthy and safe. Regardless of whom you choose to care for your fur baby, you should communicate any allergies or dietary restrictions, potentially dangerous behaviors (i.e., door dashing, leash slipping, agression with other dogs, etc.), and anxieties (i.e., fireworks, skateboards, motorcyles, etc.). Discussing this information will help you and your dog's caregiver to feel confident about your dog's safety. But it's not all about warnings and danger! Make sure you discuss your fur baby's routine, favorite activities, and beloved toys as well.
A typical day
My family and I live close to a major park with an endless supply of trees, hydrants and squirrels to stimulate our doggie guests. We have interactive toys and games and a whole room dedicated to doggie down time with beds and snugglypoofs (what my son calls stuffed animals) to cuddle with.
