Trustworthy experienced animal care
Pet care experience
Update for 2022: I have plenty of references from clients that I've met from outside of Rover. I'll be happy to provide additional testimony upon request! Hello everybody! I'm David and am looking to help you provide the best care for your animals. I recently lost my Labrador(in pic) to cancer at 8.5 years old. Although his death has made life a struggle as of late, I take pride in knowing that he brought joy to everybody he came across. From my neighbors, to the vet, to the workers at NCSU Oncology who tried to help him beat his battle...they all loved him. He was a wonderful dog, more than I could have ever hoped for, and I do take pride in raising and training such a well-behaved dog. I attempted to join Rover before but couldn't figure it out. Since Hank has been gone, it's been kind of lonely and I would like to get onto Rover to help people care for their animals, make a little bit extra cash, and fill the void that has been left behind since September 5, 2019. We had dogs when I was growing up(2 Labradors, a golden, and a Finnish Lapphund) that I was responsible for training and walking/exercising. I'm very good with all animals. My parent's still have some dogs(older Dachshund and older Labrador mix) that I help take care of. When my brother goes out of town, I stay at his house and take care of his 3 dogs(Labrador mix, Labrador/Pyrenees mix, and a Beagle) as well as the farm animals. Animals are my thing. I understand how they are and if I don't completely understand, my patience allows me to get to the point that I do. I am more than happy to "meet and greet" with you and your animal(s) for any service you are requesting. I look forward to helping you take care of your special pets in whatever way that I can. Thank you for your consideration!
Reviews
We've used David several times, for Houssitting overnight and for Drop-ins. He's wonderful every time and both of my dogs love him, one of which is very picky and can be sloq to win over. He's communicative and pleasant to work with. I would recommend him to any of my friends.
David was great, he took care of our 3 Rottweilers for a week!
David was very flexible when our travel plans were thwarted by the storms.
Davis goes above expectations! We have used him multiple times for our dog sitting needs. Every booking his communication, status updates and personal touch has been outstanding. This eases my worry when we go away. Definitely would recommend David’s services.

I do whatever means necessary to care for client's pets at home. I try to keep it as close to your "normal schedule" as possible but will also break off of the beaten path.
Information David S. would like to know about your pet
Just the basics. Any stressors/issues that you would also want to know if you were in my position. Also...what are their happy words? "Outside/out/go out, treat/biscuit/cookie," etc.
A typical day
Depending on what the owner feels, I'd be up to taking the dog anywhere for exercise. I particularly love going to Umsted Park and always had good experiences there with my old dog. Dog parks would also be an option after discussion with the owner. If we are able to go "out and about," there's plenty I could think of. If they would be better off just staying home, then I would certainly do my best to provide the best entertainment for what I would have to work with.

My schedule is flexible so I can work with just about anything that is needed. My visit times are normally: AM(6a-9a), Midday(3p-6p), PM(9p-11:30p/12:00a). It depends on needs and availability but I can usually work in anything.
