Dog sitter, walker, and lover!

Pet care experience

My name is David S. and I have been around dogs my entire life! I grew up in Sonoma County caring for my own dogs, and now take care of my 5 year old Golden Retriever. I enjoy traveling, and understand how important it is to make sure your dog is comfortable and safe while you're away! I'm an engaging dog walker, and have taken several behavioral classes with my own pup. I'm able to recognize different behaviors, allowing me to feel comfortable walking your dog which will in turn help provide him/her with a fun and safe experience! My goal in taking care of your pet is to make sure they are comfortable, safe, and have a positive experience. I encourage you to tell me all about your pup, I want to know everything! Every dog is different and the more tips you provide, the more comfortable I can make him/her. I believe in strong communication to insure that you will be at ease with your pet in my care.

David and his fiance were absolutely wonderful! They were very friendly and communicative, and sent lots of photos while we were away. They asked lots of questions about our dog's habits when we dropped him off, and we felt very comfortable leaving our pup with them. Their dog, Flynn, is a sweetie pie and the two played so well! I felt guilty that we didn't take a longer trip so they could hang more :) we will definitely book with David next time we need a dog sitter!

David is a dog lover and very sensitive to the needs of my dogs. He’s experienced with aging dogs as well as puppies. He is very attentive with what’s important to what we want in caring for dogs. As well as responsible. He’s always been our first choice!

David Skiles would be a great dog sitter because of his experience and love for all dogs. He has dog sat on multiple occasions over the past 14 years. Many people relied on him to take care of their own dogs consistently. He has been involved in dog sitting at the owners residence as well as caring for dogs staying at his current residence. Now that he is a personal dog owner, I know there is nothing he wouldn’t do for his dog, as well as any dogs in his care.

I want to know everything about your pup! Every dog is different, from behaviors to known commands. I'd like to know whether your dog is crate trained or not, potty trained, how he/she does on walks and with other dogs, and any other tips you can provide. The more I know, the more comfortable I can make your pup during their stay!

A typical day

I enjoy going on hikes and visiting the dog park. There is also a park nearby home where I like to walk my pup. At the dog park (fenced area) I love to play fetch with Flynn.

Availability

When I’m at work I leave the dogs home, so it helps to know if your pup is crate trained or ok to leave in the house. When I’m home I am playing with the dogs! I try to go for a hike or to the dog park on weekends.
