Pet care experience
Hi! My name is David, I'm a Mechanical Engineer here in Louisville and I've been pet sitting since I was a kid! I've taken care of animals from all walks of life: dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, reptiles, and so on. I'm a strong advocate for animal rights and I'm very flexible with any desired routines you'd like me to continue with your pet while you're away to avoid any stress on the animal (and you as an owner!) Due to the current state of COVID-19, I am working from home which allows me to spend more time with your pup during their stay, meaning more walks, attention, and full access to the backyard throughout the day. Our dog, Juniper, is very friendly and makes for a great playmate throughout the day! If you would like more information feel free to reach out to me and I'll respond as quickly as possible!

My dog had a wonderful stay with David, Taylor and their dog Juniper. He seemed to bond instantly with them and loved playing with Juniper, running around the backyard and going on walks and trips to the dog park. I loved the photos they sent of Albie on his adventures and updates on how he was doing. This was my first experience with Rover and David made sure that all of my questions were answered and that the experience was smooth and seamless. If I need a dog sitter again, I would feel safe and reassured to have him here again.
Leader had a great weekend at David's house. David was incredibly communicative and diligent during our pre-stay meet and greet, and did a great job keeping my active border collie / GSD mix entertained during her stay at David's. I will reach out to David again anytime I need somebody to watch my dog.
I am so thankful I found David. The moment I met David, I felt at ease and confident that my “happy for life” golden retriever, Guy, was in the best of care. At drop off, David welcomed me into his beautiful home so I could see where Guy would be staying and showed me his wonderful fenced backyard which became Guy’s happy place to run and get his wiggles out. David was thoughtful and asked questions about Guy’s needs/care while I was away and his thoughtfulness/awareness of my pup’s needs made me feel so at ease, knowing Guy would be staying with a reliable sitter in his cozy pet-friendly home. From daily walks, frisbee play breaks, to shared photos of Guy, I saw how great of a time Guy has with David and I would recommend David to any of my closest friend. I even had to extend Guy’s boarding for one night due to a delayed flight and David generously and kindly told me it wasn’t a problem and loved having Guy’s company. Thank you again so much David! Guy came home with me so happy.
David provided excellent care and companionship for our two dogs while we were on vacation. I would definitely use him again.

If you dog has any sort of anxiety, food aggression, or other quirks it is important for me to know how to approach your dog to ensure their stay is as comfortable as possible.
A typical day
A typical day starts with a long walk around the many parks/open spaces in our neighborhood, followed by free time in the backyard/in the house (usually involves a lot of napping). In the afternoon we typically take our pup to the dog park but will go for a long walk if that's a better fit for your dog!
