I've grown up with dogs all of my life, from the moment I was born I haven't lived without one in my household. I'd have a whole pack if my fiancé allowed it! Haha. I started working with dogs at the age of 13, which means for the majority of my life I've been around these great creatures. I started out volunteering at the local humane society in the shelter and then moved on to helping out at adoption events. When I could finally drive, I got myself a job at the local pet shop at age 16. I worked there until I was 19, then I got a job working at a 24 hour Emergency and Specialty Referrals Veterinary Center in Loomis, Ca. Come to find out I’ve actually worked with classmates of the Veterinarian I take my dog to. During my college career I studied Animal Science at Cal Poly in SLO. I've gained hands on experience as well as technical knowledge working with a wide variety of animals. Dogs will always be my favorite. The amount of unconditional love they give you is unlike any other creature. I will always be the guy to stop and point out a dog on the street as I drive by. I started pet sitting/house sitting a little over 10 years ago. I find dogs do best while being able to stay in their homes where they are comfortable. That way they are familiar with their environment and their parents time away is less stressful on them. I have experience with medication administration; pills, oral suspension liquids and injectibles. I have experience working diabetic dogs and know they need to go outside more frequently and know how to watch for signs of low blood sugar. I've pet sit seizure prone dogs and know how to keep a dog safe during their seizures so they won't choke or hurt themselves. I've also watched up to 5 dogs in one household at time, so multiple dogs are not an issue for me. All I ask is that we have a meet and greet before house sitting, at least once so you can introduce me to your dog(s) and give me a run down of what their daily routine is like.
