Growing up, I had two Border Collies...Lassie and Wino...followed by two Pekingese...Benny and Winny. Some of the best times I've ever had as a child were spent with my dogs. About a year ago, I adopted my current dog, Foxy(they named her at the shelter), a 20-pound Basenji mix, from the anti-cruelty society. She was about 9mo old, barely housebroken, and had little understanding of tricks for treats... but after working with her for a brief time, she learned to go outside and not on the rug, and now has half a dozen tricks under her collar. She's an amazing girl. She's always been great with other dogs and humans, and she loves company. Her best friend Trigger, a senior dachshund, lives upstairs from us and visits regularly, and sometimes needs to be watched or taken out when his dad's at work.
