I send pupdates upon arrival along with details of each visit -see my pics for examples :) Yes, I wear my heart on my tail ;) Hello, my name is David and I love dogs, and cats. I work remotely, thus can't help myself but give more attention to your pet(s) than they might otherwise receive from sitters leaving during the day to go to work. My rates reflect giving loads of attention to them throughout the ENTIRE day, not just morning, or an occasional lunch drop-in and/or evening feedings/walkings. If your dog(s) only require an overnight stay with a feedings plus dog walks in the morning and in the evening, we may negotiate my rates. Me... My first connection to dogs... It began with my Grandpa adopting me my first puppy when I was 13. She was a rescue who was my companion for 13 years. After moving to DC, I made friends with a neighbor, whereby she gave me blanket permission to access her home, and take her dog for a walk anytime. It turned out to be a win-win for all three of us. I've dog & cat sat for many animal lovers, breeds including German shepherds, rescues from Riwanda, brown labs, poodles, rescues from South Africa, chihuahuas, pugs, Bichons, terriers, dachshunds, Cockapoos, pointers, greyhounds... And even more felines, too many list. I too, have had cats, one as a child, and most recently my "Saffron" who passed during the pandemic. If I don't know your breed, I'll do my research as well as take notes from you. I'm pretty transparent, in that I send "pupdates" while I'm looking after your pet. See examples of my pupdates below, and thank you for considering me :) I live close to Maryland, on the DC side. Working remotely allows me much flexibility to be mobile while looking after your dogs. I have references of dog owners who trust me not only with their dog, but with their homes, and their cars (as needed), too! An overnight stay is from 7pm to 7am ish. As you can see from the pupdates posted to my profile photos, I am in touch consistently with sharing pictures and texting with the owner, so you're fully aware of when, as well as, how much time I spend with your dogs and/or cats.

Booked on super short notice but David still delivered! He took great care of my dog over a long weekend, even when my dog was a little under the weather. I’d definitely book again.
David was amazing! He came in at the very last minute when our other sitter got sick and was absolutely perfect. Sent us lots of pictures and updates, was so helpful and thoughtful and handled a lot of different logistics so well. He even noticed that our neighbors had put their garbage out on the street and so he put our garbage out for us, even though I had forgotten to mention that. David was such a pleasure to work with. We have already booked him for another visit. Highly recommend!
David stayed at our home for a week with our (slightly high-maintenance) dog Kaiser while we were traveling. He came over once beforehand to meet Kaiser and has a calm manner that seemed to put Kaiser at ease (i.e. Kaiser barked at him but not as much as he usually does with strangers in the house). David sent us daily updates and pictures, took care of mail and even some tree watering, and left the house spotless. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a dog sitter to stay at your home.
David went above and beyond in caring for my pups as well as our home. I received consistent updates and was able to really enjoy being away and not worry about my pets. Thank you!

I have compassion for all breeds, however would like to know the basics about your dog... Where they like to sleep, activity levels, how they are with other dogs when approached on walks, etc., any medications, feeding schedule, types of treats and how often, any behaviors you may be currently working on, and anything else that you think I should know about your dog(s) or cat(s).
A typical day
I have a church with a baseball field about a block away from my place, plus a closed in, fenced play area (basketball court and tennis courts) to play ball with your dog :^) Most walks/runs are in my neighborhood on the back streets with less traffic, leading into and through Rock Creek Park, and on/around the baseball field.
