Pet care experience
I have been a Sonoma County resident since 1989, and moved to Bodega Bay in 2009. I live 5 minutes from Doran Park and walk the beach several days a week rain or shine and would love to take your dog along for the fun! I have experience with many breeds including all terrier and large dog breeds. As a teenager, I trained, showed, and helped to raise Great Pyrenees puppies and dogs. Dogs respond well to my calm but strong command and playful spirit. I have helped people work through difficult behavioral issues with their dogs and when necessary, I call my niece, who is a certified behaviorist and professional dog trainer, for her expertise. Currently, I share my home with two cats. I worked with and rescued feral cats for 20 years. I would love the opportunity to bond with your cat and walk your dog/dogs for exercise and play!

Dogs must be up to date on all of their immunizations including bordetella bronchisceptica (also known as kennel cough) and must be spayed/neutered if I'm taking them out on walks. Does your dog have any behavioral issues (ie. leash aggression, food aggression, separation anxiety)? While I have handled many sizes and breeds of dogs I prefer to leave dogs with aggression issues to the experts. In some cases, dogs have simply developed bad habits that we can work through. We can meet and see if it's an issue I feel I can work with and if we're a good match. I require a crate be available for safely transporting your dog in case of illness or emergencies.
A typical day
I walk on the beach several times a week so if your dog loves the beach they will get plenty of beach time with me! Some dogs do not enjoy the beach or there are days when the beach is too crowded or hot so we will do a pleasant trail walk together.
