I met Darrin years ago when he enrolled in a pet dog class I was teaching. Darrin had a rescued dog, under socialized, and reactive toward other dogs in class. Normally a dog like this would not fit with a group class, but Darrin was one of the best, most attentive “pet parents” I have encountered, With guidance, he managed situations that initially resulted in reactive behavior, and earned the complete trust of his dog (Sombra) as she looked to Darrin as her leader. All reward-based training. Reactive behavior was non-existent by our last class and Darrin and Sombre received a round of applause from the class. Darrin was devoted to Sombra, has a compassionate heart (advocate for the homeless population): understands dog body language and importance of rewarding behaviors one wants. I met up with Darrin several years ago as he wanted me to see how well Sombra was doing. It was amazing to see all he had taught her and feel the strong bond they had. Darrin loves dogs. Darrin would be an asset to a company that provided responsible, knowledgeable, and kind pet caretakers. I am happy to recommend Darrin.
