Pet care experience
I have had dogs most of my life, but when we said goodbye to our last one, we decided that it would not be fair to take on a new one at our age, so I love taking dogs into my home and getting my "doggie fix" that way. We have looked after dozens of dogs and enjoyed our time with every one. Whether you need someone to look after your dog for a few hours while you go whale watching, or for weeks when you go on vacation, I will give your pet my full attention and lots of TLC. Please note that I’m way better at looking after pets than I am with technology, so if there are any issues in contacting me, be patient and keep trying.

We had a wonderful experience with Darlene. She dog sat our dog Penny for us while we went whale watching. Penny seemed happy and calm when we picked her up and I think everything went great. I would highly recommend Darlene, she gave easy to follow directions and was a great communicator.
We left our dog with Darlene while we went on our whale watching tour. She was friendly and warm with our dog (and with us too!). She even met us at the wharf after our tour! We highly recommend Darlene.
I had to cancel a week before my booking because the event I was going to see was cancelled due to Corona virus. I asked Darlene on several occasions whether or not she could at least part of my fee, or at the very least apply it to the dates rescheduled at the end of May. She never got back to me and I longer seem to have access to her email. Please tell her I don’t think anyone would be satisfied with this turn of events. Note that my rating applies to her administration of my request and cancellation

A typical day
We have lots of options for walks, from a leisurely stroll downtown to walks on the beach or walking trail where we can have longer walks with more opportunity to explore. We have fenced in patio where we like to sit with our visiting pets on nice days.

We are retired, home full time and we enjoy walking. Our schedule's flexible and we can usually accomodate any pet's routine for meals or exercise. The vet is just a couple of blocks away in case of any emergency or special needs.
