Honest, experienced & obsessed

Pet care experience

Hey! I wholeheartedly appreciate integrity, transparency, and respect - trusting someone with your family is not something to take lightly in today's world, so here's a brief rundown on who I am to help YOU decide if/how I'm a good a fit for your fur babies! Services described below as well. I spent 5 yrs on the United States Humane Society’s animal rescue team & district leader programs (experience with all ages, sizes and temperaments, Dog First Aid/CPR certified, catered to special needs, administered oral topical and intramuscular meds, canine engagement and enrichment, it was an incredible chapter of my life!). I’ve pursued my passion for health as well over the years (5 yrs as volunteer Fire/EMS and started a holistic nutrition & integrative health agency) which has given me the experience and afforded me the time with one of the things I cherish most (dogs!). They’re the most selfless animals I’ve loved learning how to communicate with and Rover allows me to help in such a more personalized way. I have 3 well-mannered dogs of my own who we love like family - I'm a 30 yr old wife, mama, veteran, functional nutritionist, integrative health coach, and herbalist that loves to make the most out of life. Whether you need help for random occasions, long vacations, or work trips (no longterm commitments) — you can rest easy knowing your pet is in loving and knowledgeable hands. I'd love to help take care of your fur fam & give them the love they deserve while you’re away! WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ME - » Love: dogs make our days so much better and I’d love to help fill their days with the joy, laughter, and belly rubs they deserve! » Safety: I’ve learned to never get complacent & reasonably prioritize situational awareness for your pets like I would my own family (strangers, locking doors, choking hazards, health emergencies, etc). » Integrity: I say what I mean and I do what I say! Trust & transparency are hard bridges to build back once burnt so with clear expectations set, your dog(s) will be cared for exactly the way you ask them to be no matter how simple or complex their routine may be (with lots of photos/videos along the way!). WHAT I’D LOVE FROM YOU - » Communication: every dog is different with unique needs so please never hesitate to promptly specify what your dog(s) need more/less of! » Obedience: I never expect perfect obedience!! But I do believe manners are important. I've been (unintentionally) injured, seen dogs damage property, and believe setting boundaries (lovingly) is important if we want to coexist! WARNING: malicious inquiries have definitely come through so we'll schedule a free 20-30 minutes together beforehand! A NOTE ON OBEDIENCE: with the HSUS, I was taught how to train basic obedience using Pavlovian pairing/classical conditioning techniques (ex: rewarding for what’s acceptable, creating opportunities to praise, minimal physical correction for desired outcome, replacing physical correction with verbal correction, etc). I believe we need to ban behaviors not breeds! And any dog can learn new tricks with some time, love, and consistent guidelines. However I only offer training if/when you express interest. I will never praise or correct any behavior unless asked to. Otherwise, the only behavior I'll stop is any behavior that harms your pet(s), people, or property. DAYCARE/BOARDING: a fun way for me to give your pup the time you’re away (for the day or overnight) socializing and playing in a personal environment! Like home away from home! We’re grateful to have a warm space, fenced yard, carbon filtered water, and plenty of antlers to share! We love welcoming one dog to stay (and snuggle) with us and our crew (3 female dogs, 1 toddler) where they’ll get greeted with belly rubs over coffee, played with by us and our canines, and talked to like family throughout the day! Plenty of yard to roam, a dedicated den in our living room to make their own (toys, beds, blankets, etc), and way more opportunity to go potty/exert energy vs 2-3 visits in your home. You pack the food and maybe their favorite treats, I’ll make sure they feel right at home with daily pictures/videos throughout the stay! Daycare: $65/day | Boarding: $75/day Any price adjustments made after you inquire. Availability: Monday-Sunday DROP-INS/DOG WALKS: they are essentially the same service (same price!)! In theory, “drop-ins” are potty breaks/playtime for dogs with fenced in yards, large open properties, dogs who spend most of their time inside, or need more than a walk… while “dog walks” are leashed walks around your neighborhood. In my book, they both include lots of belly rubs, playtime, poop pickup, cleaned dog bowls/fresh water, meals & meds, and tons of time outdoors. 1 dog $20 | 2 dogs $25 | 3+ $30 Any price adjustments made after you inquire. Availability: Monday-Sunday HOUSESITTING: I no longer offer “overnight” housesitting but I do as many 30 min visits as you’d like, so your pups still enjoy steady company in the comfort of home sweet home. Always includes walks or potty breaks daily, meals & meds, playtime & exercise, lots of cuddles for dogs who’d rather snuggle than play, and light tidying up (clean dog bowls, poop pickup, quick sweep) so you come home to your space the way you left it. 1 dog $50 | 2 dogs $60 | 3+ dogs $65 Price adjusted accordingly once you inquire. Availability: Monday-Sunday CAT CARE: more than willing to help with cat care for clients already paying for dog care (no cat-only services). Includes meals & meds, snuggles, playtime, and cat litter. On average its only an extra $5-15 total (depending on duration of stay). NOTE ON DISTANCE/RADIUS: please keep in mind Rover takes 20% of my rate, so in order to make a profit after gas and Rover fees, I only offer dog walks within a certain radius. Please touch base with any Qs! I'd love to help!

Danika took wonderful care of my pup!! She kept me up to date on my pup’s upset stomach which really relieved worry on my end. She took great care, and I really appreciate it!

This was our first time using Rover and my family could not be more pleased with Danika's service! Our pup Evie was spoiled with the walks, play, and attention Danika gave her. All around great service and great experience! We will definitely use Danika again in the future.

Danika felt like family! She knew how to introduce herself to both our husky and shepherd in a calm neutral way, followed through with everything we asked while we were gone. She’s been a great sitter that we can depend on!

Our three dogs love Danika!! She‘s so caring but stern and informative with our obedience training which we personally love about her. The entire family has been comfortable leaving her with our fur babies over the holidays for two years now without hesitation. We never refrain from recommending her!

A typical day

Walking is such a great opportunity to train & reinforce commands together. But potty breaks, a game of fetch, tug, toys that release treats, ropes, stuffed animals, a local park or snugglin on the couch can be just as good! I also know the stress that comes with living in various types of locations: our own dogs have lived on busy roads, a wide open farm, and now a fenced in yard. While I'm so proud of how obedient they've been off leash all these years, I know training is tedious so I’m more than willing to entertain your dog(s) on leash or in your yard. I understand they're domesticated animals that depend on us to supervise them!
