Pet care experience
I am a certified behavior consultant and trainer with 15 years in veterinary medicine. My partner and I live on 32 acres in Fines Creek that is perfect for peace and adventure. I'm ready to take care of your pets as if they were my own! We can follow rules you have in place, maintain good behavior, and make sure your pet is feeling well. I have studied the science of behavior and am certified through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, the Karen Pryor Academy, Fear Free, and others. I am experienced in caring for many species and have horses, sheep, and poultry of my own (which stay separated from any dog guests.) After noticing that so many of my boarders weren't comfortable being alone or confined and were even nervous about just being a new place after COVID, I've structured boarding so that I can spend time focusing on your pet and getting them comfortable in a different home. We can even add on a tailored training plan! I also have the ability to accommodate dogs who may need specialized handling or be away from other dogs. Let's chat!
Reviews
Danielle is the best! She’s so great with our dog, we are grateful to have her in our area!
Danielle was incredible with our two dogs, Loch and Nessa! They loved staying in her private doggy guest house (with its own fenced area accessible by doggy door)! They also went for relaxing walks around Danielle’s gorgeous farmland throughout the day! It was too good to be true! Thank you for such a magical day :) the dogs miss you already!
Danielle is thoughtful, reliable, amazing with our blind grumpy chihuahua, and overall lovely to work with. As a first time Rover user, I was very at ease knowing she was in charge.
Just what Izzy needed. Danielle is a pro and understands little dogs. She kept me assured that Izzy had not succumbed to a nervous breakdown. When I picked Izzy up, she looked wistfully at Danielle as we departed. Apparently, they had a very good time.

I have a large property that will soon have a sizeable fenced area. My home is open with a lot of area to play. If I have to leave a dog alone, I do prefer to be able to crate or put them in the run. My goal is to make your pet as comfortable as possible. We are conveniently located near I-40 and NC 209 (the Rattler/Scenic Byway,) which are both gorgeous drives. We are only a 4 minute detour if going West toward Knoxville from Asheville and are 30 minutes from the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Information Danielle W. would like to know about your pet
I would love to know what things your pet loves and what behaviors I can continue to reinforce. We have a lot of toys and supplies, but I welcome beds and favorite things from home. Please tell me about any dietary or behavioral sensitivities. I also have a form you can fill out to provide more information.
A typical day
Our day involves multiple walks around the property or down the road and usually a bigger hike up our mountain. We have lots of playtime and make meals as enriching as possible. Downtime is important too, and I encourage naps or focusing on a toy independently.

Availability
I work almost exclusively from home with my training and behavior business. Sometimes for their safety and welfare, boarders will need to be in a crate or behind an exercise pen or baby gate. Our routine is catered to whomever is staying here, but we like playtime, relaxing in the shade, and going for enrichment walks.
