Pet care experience

Hello! My name's Danielle, I'm 40 years old, and I have been an animal lover and an advocate all of my life. Growing up, I was blessed with having dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, turtles, and frogs. I believed that it was my duty to take care of these creatures and I was always willing to do whatever I could to care for and help any animal I saw that was in need of quality love and care. When it comes to caring for other people's pets, I have over 28 years of experience house sitting and pet sitting. Before Rover and Wag, I used to advertise my services on Craigslist, and primarily utilized networking and word of mouth in order to obtain new clients. I believe it is my experience and my professionalism that really set me apart from the average pet sitters on here. I'm great with all animals, big and small. Over the years, I have seen it all and I have learned a lot in the process. Anything I don't know, I can learn very quickly. I will treat your pet as if they were my own and I accept all pets of all ages/breeds/sizes. Why I love dog sitting..... I have owned dogs my entire life. The first was Bear, a Pomeranian. Then I had Murphy Brown, a Labrador Retriever, and Sadie, a Lab/Irish Setter. I currently don't own any dogs. After my baby Lily passed away, I haven't been able to get a new dog. I love petsitting because it allows me to have that contact with pets on a regular basis without the commitment of owning my own. I also am happy to treat your pets as my own. Everyone deserves a vacation and I want to help by providing clients with peace of mind ensuring your pets are being treated with the love, care, and respect that you would provide, if not more. I seem to understand animals better than I understand people and I couldn't imagine life without them. I specialize in working with nervous, anxious, and skiddish pets. So if your pet has anxiety when youre gone, please contact me. I will help create a calm environment so you will arrive home to a happy, healthy animal.

We decided to go on a last minute trip and Danielle was able to meet with Sally and us within a couple days. Sally is old and going blind, so she isn't always comfortable with new people. But meeting Danielle went great and everything went well while we were gone. We will definitely use Danielle again when we need a sitter.

Did a great job giving insulin shots to two of my cats; one of them being extremely skittish. It was awesome being able to go away for a few days and to know someone was able to take care of them while I was gone. Thank you!

I currently have two baby kittens at my house so I can't easily accommodate pets at my house at the moment. However, when it comes to caring for your pets in your home, I prefer to follow your lead. I want to make your pets feel like everything is as close to normal as possible. So, any routines that you have at your house, please let me know. I want to provide them with the environment that they are accustomed to while you are away. My experience administering medication: Yes, I have experience giving medicine orally and in shot form. My dog Murphy developed diabetes when she was about 10 years old and I had to administer 2 shots of insulin to her daily for the last couple of years of her life. So I am well-versed in giving shots. I gave my kittens all of their shots on my own so I have no problem with injections. I also have administered many oral medications to dogs and cats so I am very comfortable with giving oral medications.

Information Danielle M. would like to know about your pet

The most important information that I want to know ahead of time about your dog/cat is what their personality is like. If they are timid and easily scared, please let me know ahead of time. That way, I know how to best approach them. I always err on the side of caution and I approach every dog calmly and respectfully. Dogs and cats are very quick to warm up to me. I tend to be a calming presence for all animals.

A typical day

I would love to take your dog for a walk along the river or through the park, depending on the area we are in. I am very active and enjoy walking around town. I will try to get all the energy out of your dog so they can just relax with you for the rest of the day. If your dog has activities they enjoy or games they love to play, please tell me about it. I want to give your dog an experience that is as close to being with you as I can, so they feel safe and secure. So any games or activities that they enjoy doing with you, I would love to know.

I recently was laid off from my main job so I have decided to start petsitting full-time. Therefore, I am available 24/7 to care for your fur babies and your house. I ask clients to please allow me 1 hour per day to take care of personal affairs. Otherwise, I can provide care for as long as you would like or need. I try to limit my area of operation to within 10 miles from my home, near Watt and 80. I can provide services for people that live further out, however, it would possibly come with a higher charge based on how far outside of my home base area of care. I try to be pretty reasonable on price and I am always willing to work with you if you cant afford it. Money pays the bills but at the end of the day, I care more about your pets getting proper care and love.
