I treat your dog like my very own!
Pet care experience
My love for animals started very young and I have never NOT had at least one dog in my life. From an early age, I assisted my mom, who raised Golden Retrievers. I had my own dog by the time I was 10, who live to the ripe age of 15 before she passed on. When I moved to Austin in 2008, I adopted my first personal dog within a few weeks. Shortly after, I became aware of and started volunteering for a local rescue. I eventually worked for them as an adoption counselor, while simultaneously getting more structured training through Petco’s Canine Education program. Since then, I have furthered my training experience through attending a variety of seminars and training schools, as well as working for three prestigious dog training companies in Austin and Seattle. I am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, Pet Tech certified, and currently work part time in a veterinary clinic - I have seen and done a lot when it comes to caring for your animals! I am comfortable and confident in dealing with many behavioral difficulties, dispensing medications, and handling emergency situations. I have now been working professionally with dogs for a little over seventeen years and I couldn’t be happier! I have had hands on experience, in rescue, fostering, and training, with several thousand dogs, of all different sizes, breeds, temperaments, and behavior problems. I became a dog trainer in order to aid and educate owners on how to solve behavior problems, in order to have a happier, more satisfied and harmonious life with their pets. Dogs are my passion and I firmly believe that a well trained dog, is a happy, confident dog - which makes a happy owner - so your dog may learn a thing or two during their stay with me!
Reviews
Danielle was great, took good care of my two dogs. Much appreciated thank you!
Overall, the stay was very disappointing. The drop off went well, and our dogs have very few needs, other than to go out at least once every 8 hours (like most dogs). The pickup was difficult. We had planned to pick them up on Monday evening, and sent a message through Rover to let her know we were on the way. We didn't hear back for 3 hours, and she claimed she was in a movie (during the time we were supposed to pick them up). By then, it was 9:30pm, and we had already gone back home. We messaged her to try again in the morning. The next morning, we messaged after 8am, and heard back about 9:30am, that we could pick them up at 10:30am. I showed up to pick them up, and one of our dogs had starting peeing in her house just about then. She hadn't let them outside yet (after 10am). The dog won't pee in the house unless it's been more than 9 hours, and eventually he gives up. Overall, we were very disappointed. The dogs were very dirty, smelled horrible, and drank a LOT of water as soon as they got home. I wasn't there to see it, but they didn't seem to be well cared for, or let outside regularly. We wasted a lot of time trying to pick them up, and the communication was not good.
Danielle was great with my rhody/boxer mix. She agreed to watch him on late notice and was quick to respond and sent pictures as well. Appreciated the care and attention he got.
Danielle is amazing with dogs! My dog Murphy and I have worked with her for over a year and I would highly recommend her to care for yours. Danielle is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and trustworthy. Your dog will be lucky to get to spend some time with her!

In my apartment, dogs can be kenneled or loose, depending on your preference. One of my dogs is kenneled, the other two are not. I am happy to use whatever leash/harness/collar combo you prefer on walks and drop in visits.

Information Danielle K. would like to know about your pet
We love pooches of all shapes, sizes, ages and temperaments. If your dog is a less-than-social butterfly, I can ensure they will be comfortable and get plenty of one-on-one interactions. Things that are beneficial for me to know prior to your dog's stay include: - What does your dog enjoy (treats, toys, outings, etc.)? - What does your dog dislike (cats, other dogs, going in the car, etc.)? - Is your dog current on vaccinations? Puppies must be as current as veterinarian allows. Parvo/Rabies required. Bordatella and Leptospirosis optional. - Has your dog ever been boarded before? - Has your dog ever been in a kennel/crate before and if so, how did it go? - Has your dog ever shown signs of discomfort, reactivity or aggression towards another dog? - Has your dog ever shown signs of discomfort, reactivity or aggression towards a child? - Has your dog ever shown signs of discomfort, reactivity or aggression towards an adult? There may be a handful of other questions that can be answered upon a meet and greet. I am a firm believer in open communication and over-informing.
A typical day
My dogs love to run at off leash parks, play fetch, swim, and generally burn off energy. They are social although not overly playful. Our neighborhood is FULL of people and dogs, so there is plenty to see!

Availability
I do odd jobs, so my schedule is very flexible. My personal dogs get 4-5 walks in our neighborhood a day and go to the park once or twice a week.
