From the time that my very first word as an infant was "dog," I have loved animals and spent time and effort actively seeking to be around them. My family was allergic when I was growing up, so I began pet-sitting for other families in our neighborhood from around the 1st grade. I've cared for dogs, cats, fish, rodents, birds, and reptiles. In 2nd grade, I was finally allowed to get a pet mouse and I trained her to ride around the house on my shoulder like a parrot. =D After my cousin's family got a poodle and told my parents about hypoallergenic dogs, we got a Bichon puppy my 8th grade year who I helped raise along with my sister. When I went away to college, I joined a student organization for training guide dogs and desperately wanted to become a puppy-raiser, but unfortunately couldn't commit (due to my dorm rules and no guarantee that they could assign me a Labradoodle for going home on holidays), so instead I just went through their orientation program including learning how to clicker train puppies at the local animal shelter. After graduating college, I got married and moved to CA, where in 2016 I finally wore my hubby down and got my dream of a collie puppy, who is now our bestest pupperz Lincoln! We moved back to McKinney in November, and I'm now starting to sit with Rover as my husband and I work to start our own online businesses from home.
