We've had pets (dogs & cats) in our families since we were kids - and we miss them! We've got a great house for hosting! And we only take one pet at a time, so that they get good care and our undivided attention :) My hubby and I work from home, and we're almost always home because we also have two young children. It's easy for one of us to take a quick break to check on the pets or take them for a walk. And it gives us an excuse to get some exercise! Our kids are used to living with pets (when we lived in NY) and they miss having them around since we no longer have pets of our own. Our entire downstairs is tile floor so we aren't too worried about dogs making messes. And we have areas/rooms were we can keep them so that they get their own space. Also, we have a spacious, fenced-in backyard and a wonderful community to take walks. We have a fenced in yard with plenty of space for playing and running. In addition, our community is private, quiet, with a ton of grass for dog-walking. Our house also has a lot of gates because of our baby who's almost one - so it's easy for us to put gates up for your pet and give him or her their own special/cozy space.
