31 years experience owning dogs (my whole life) :) I will treat your pup like my own, which is to say I will treat them like a beloved and cherished member of our family. I'm a stickler for safety, especially when out on walks here in AK...I always carry bear spray in the summer, always have a headlamp when walking at night, etc. I have the utmost respect for how you choose to raise and manage your dog, and I will uphold those standards, rules, and habits when caring for your dog so as to not confuse them - we all know dogs thrive on their routines and it's our duty to respect and protect those routines for them! Experience caring long term for variety of breeds and ages. Experience administering eye/ear drops, giving pills orally, bathing, and clipping nails. Comfortable with walking puppies and experienced in administering discipline and puppy training methods during walks (based on owner's instructions/preferences) I work from home so I’m largely available during the week to dog sit/board in my own home most days, and get pups out for walks near my neighborhood. I’m open to short term and long term care. My husband and I live in the Sand Lake/Kincaid area in a 2000 sq. ft. single story home with a large fenced yard. We have a 6 year old greyhound mix, Luna, who is of course vaccinated and very good with welcoming new dogs into her home. She has a playful personality but also loves to nap a lot, and welcomes new friendship wherever she can find it. We also have Lilly, a 12 year old 10 lb. Yorkiepoo. In typical little dog fashion, Lilly generally stays to herself since she's older and gets a bit annoyed with boisterous dogs, but she tolerates any dog and even ends up liking them sometimes :) Lilly is also of course up-to-date on all her vaccines. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood with safe walking paths on all streets and we get out daily for walks around our neighborhood. My husband shares in my deep love for dogs and would be just as likely as me to spend plenty of time on the floor engulfed in puppy kisses and play just to show affection. Loving on our dogs and seeing their joy is one of the great joys of our lives, and we treat any dog who comes into our home with that same love, protection, and affection. A few of our important house rules you should know: We NEVER feed our pups human food from the table. We don't go to bed without kissing our pups goodnight.
