reliable, prompt, dog lover

Pet care experience

My availability right now is Mondays, Thursdays and Sunday's all day, Wednesday evening. Late Friday afternoon to evening and possibly Saturday evening. I have over 600 volunteering hours at a no kill animal shelter here in NY. I have walked small dogs to medium-big dogs. I can handle them well when I walk them. With out without a harness I’ve walked dogs before. Mostly I’ve walked small-medium dogs. Ranging from a year or so to several years old. I care a lot for them at the shelter. I help refill their water bowls and give them their food when it’s needed. I give the dogs a lot of love when I go into their rooms and hang out with them. I’m okay with all the kisses they give me as well. They always love to lick all over my face whenever they get the chance to do that.

Great Dog Boarder! We left Duke with Daniel and we where updated of Duke every day. We received photos and updates on Dukes condition and behavior. He was a great choice to make when it came to Dog Boarding. Daniel also followed Duke's eating schedule and walked Duke throughout the days of his stay. Thank you Daniel!!

Dan is responsible kind and a true dog lover. Dan has been volunteering at a shelter for multiple years now and it is clear to see he is most happy when with the dogs. Dan has a soft and quiet tone normally but also knows how to professionally keep dogs at bay, while on walks and in adoption rooms. Dan will give your pet all the love and attention they deserve!

Information Daniel M. would like to know about your pet

I’m pretty open with breed preferences. Just not dogs that are ginormous like Great Danes. I don’t have experience with them. Or other very large dogs. Prefer a dog that can walk up and down stairs or a dog that I am able to carry up and down. Since my apartment does not have an elevator I would like to know whether the dog I’m walking is dog reactive in any way minor and major. (And the dogs reaction to seeing other dogs if they are reactive) Do they like to tug on the leash or are they easy walkers Also does the dog wear a harness? Maybe certain tricks you know they like and enjoy. Signs of when they have to go to the bathroom when they are inside (standing near the door, a small. Ask of sorts etc.) Petting they like and don’t like. All dogs are different some like chin scratches some don’t and so on. Do they like to bark randomly for any reason or at any time morning or night? Seeing other dogs outside or other? Are they fans or little kids or not? A dog at the shelter I’m at isn’t. He barks a lot when he sees them. What commands do they know?

A typical day

Resting in my lap/couch. Lots of belly rubs (if they like them) Playing tug of war Talking with them and getting to know them and have them get to know me. Picture updates!
