Dogs best friend!

Pet care experience

Several years on Rover! Offering walks, drop in visits, house-sitting, play dates, socializing training poop pick-up and dog friendly landscaping services. I'm a freelance horticulturist with a love for four legged friends. Making my own schedule allows me to do what I love, spending time cultivating relationships with all the dogs I'm blessed to care for. Conveniently located in Mukilteo where several off leash dog park's are just a short drive away. There's also no end to the number of walking trails to enjoy while indulging in adventures with canine companions. Besides having dogs as pets in the family all my life and having the best dog in the world for 8 years (that's Dag) I've also cared for the dogs of family and friends professionally for as long as I can remember. In the many years on Rover I've experienced all manner of doggos and have learned a lot from them. Whether puppy or geezer, giant or teacup, bold or bashful I'm are able to get along with most every pup I meet. I wish my family could have all the dogs! But till then we would love to care for your pup as if it was our own. Thank you!

Our pup has stayed with Dax over a dozen times and I'm not sure I've ever left a review (I'm sorry!). Our pup, Oliver, is 12 years old and we've used many sitters throughout his life; however, Dax has always stood out! Oliver would jump out of the car and waltz into their home without even looking back - which is unlike him. Usually, he needs coaxing. We loved all the photos of their long walks in the forest, Oliver curled up asleep with the big dogs, or him playing. We have since moved from the WA area and are so sad to not have Dax hang out with our lil fur baby. We wish you and your wife all the best, Dax! Thank you for everything :)

Safety, trust & environment

The most important aspect of every Booking is safety. We all want the happiest and healthiest lives for our beloved animals. I treat every interaction with the seriousness I would want for my own pups. For me communication is the key. Knowing each pups personality and what to expect from them should the worst happen helps prevent situations before they can happen. I'll ask probing questions to get to know your doggo the best I can and take every step possible to guarantee the best for them. With my many years of experience working with dogs I've learned a great deal on how to ensure their safety through practical steps. My number one priority is to make your time away as care free as possible, knowing your pets are in confident care.

Information Daniel D. would like to know about your pet

What is your dog's personality? How do they behave? Is your dog socialized? House trained? What does your dog enjoy doing most? How can I make your pup happy? Is your dog accustomed to being with a sitter? Going out on the town with people? Do they play well at dog parks? What is your dog's daily routine? Are there any allergies or food restrictions? Are there any behaviors I should look out for? How do you correct/redirect them when they are naughty? Is your dog trained, who trained them and how? Tell me as much you can think of about your dog. The more information I have about your dog the better experience I can provide.

A typical day

Nappy puppies are happy puppies, so we like to work up a good nap. Dag enjoys sniffing the trails at least twice daily. Early morning and evening walks are a must. We are a short distance away from several lovely parks. Loganberry, Howarth, Tails n Trails and Willis Tucker are Dag's favorites because he can run free. Essentially we visit an off leash park everyday. When we're done it is usually time for a snack and a nap. For tired pups and those who prefer a slower pace we make room on the Casper mattress for unlimited cuddles. Most like to sleep together as a pack, so all dogs are welcome in bed but sometimes solitude is preferred so we have areas arranged with shy dogs in mind. We make sure to spend 1 on 1 time with each of our guests every day. This gives us a chance to better know your doggo but also serves as a opportunity to check they are healthy and happy. An hour or so is for training, Dag loves to learn new tricks so I am always working with him and training him to keep his mind sharp. We have a cornucopia of snacks on hand for good behavior or just because. Hide and seek with treats or toys is a good way to release the hunter within. Tug of war is tons of fun, so too is bouncing a ball around, any sort of play to keep them engaged and properly exercised is the goal. Daily activities will depend on the dog and special attention is given to make sure every pup gets what they need to have a fun, safe and comfortable time while you are away.
