Hello, I'm Dani and I would love to provide excellent care in my loving home for your pets while you're away. I am an experienced pet and house sitter with several references located in Portsmouth. I have over 25 years experience caring for all sorts of animals, from standard issue dogs, cats, birds, and fish, to reptiles, horses, and exotic creatures. In addition to overnight sitting, I can provide a pick-up and drop-off service for $15 if needed. Depending on your location I can also swing by your house to pick up your mail, water your plants, and take care of your non-transportable pets. Thanks for reading :) Dani About this sitter/Why I love dog sitting: I've always been around animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses. From training household and foster pets, to dog shows, to volunteering at animal shelters and wildlife rehabilitation centers, I've spent my time and passion creating better environments for animals. I can take care of your other pets, house, plants, mail, and can even provide cleaning or grooming services for an additional fee. I will care for your pets as if they were my own! Meet my pets: Pan is an 8 year old Maine Coon cat, up-to-date on shots, neutered, and friendly to all animals...probably because he's so very laid back and lazy haha I live in a pet friendly 2 bedroom duplex where pets get free rein. Because animals are my passion I understand each pet has different needs and each owner different expectations of their pet's stay with me. I treat each animal with the positive respect and love that I give my own pampered pet. In return they thrive in a happy home environment! About my yard: I have a fenced yard so your pup can experience all the joys of being a pampered indoor pet with the perks of having their own yard to play in! Also, please have the security of knowing that when your dog is outside it is on leash (except in the private dog park across the street from my home) and closely supervised and played with by me! My experience administering medication: Yes, very much so. I've worked in several kennels and shelters, and have fostered several special needs dogs in the past.

Dani provided wonderful care for our elderly miniature poodle Winston. She accepted the booking at the last minute, was very responsive with all communications, and responsibly provided the additional care that he needed as a pet taking medications. I think she would also enjoy and provide good care for more active pets. I would book her again with no reservations.

I'm especially interested in learning what the dog needs to have a calm, happy experience. I appreciate hearing about any nervous or bad habits, dog/food/kid aggression, as well as if I'd have to keep my cat separated from them during their stay. I also need to know about any medical problems or allergies and whether your dog will want to go on a run with me (vs. walking).
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Your dog will get at least 4 walks/day with me. Early morning and before bed will be around the courtyards in my neighborhood. Lunch will be half an hour at a nearby park and afternoon/evening will be a play session at a dog park or a nice long walk at the park again. Higher energy pups get more walks, lower energy/older dogs get less according to their ability and desire to do so. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Inside the house. Some dogs choose to sleep on the bed with Pan and I, others prefer a pallet by the bed, or their crate, and still others have enjoyed the couch (if getting on the furniture is allowed at home), or living room floor. Time I'll spend with your dog As much time as possible! I have all day if needed on the weekends. During the week the dog wouldn't be home alone for longer than 4 hours at a time.
