Pet care experience
I have a life-long love affair with dogs, from tiny to huge. I love to get to know their personalities and I'll even read aloud to them and recite them poetry. I love dogs of every breed, any age, and all the smiles -- to me, every dog is a new personality. I have raised two dogs from puppies myself, and I grew up with a least two dogs and a cat in the home at all times. I believe a place doesn't feel like a home without a dog, and I will take care of your dog(s) just like the members of your family that they are.

Dana was so great with our pups! She house sat for a couple days and left the house clean and taken care of. She was so gentle with the doggies when she met them and they absolutely loved her!
Dana is amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend her! She was so kind and detail oriented, and my pup Teddy had a great time with her. She did a great job of keeping us updated, and even offered to let us call her at night, if we were missing him. She went above and beyond, and left our house in great condition.
Dana did a GREAT job house and pet sitting our two Shibas for 5 days! The dogs were happy and healthy and the house was exactly as we left it. Dana was great with communication and it gives great piece of mind knowing that our kids were well cared for while we were gone. We would definitely book Dana again!

I provide caring service in your home according to your directions whether I am coming over to walk your dog or staying over to take care of your pooch while you are out of town. I have a calm demeanor and years of teaching experience with humans from preschool to graduate students, as well as with walking and spending time with dogs and cats. My age and experience have taught me it's the journey and the participants that make the life. Your pooch is my focus and your instructions are my guidelines. I will work to make sure that your dog(s) are happy, comfortable, and well taken care of.

Please let me know if your dog is friendly to other breeds, prefers to be approached by people or is more shy or reserved, is open to children or is nervous around them, how they feel about bicycles and skateboards, what kind of leash and/or harness system you use, what specific commands you use, if you use a treat system, and if there is anything else you need me to know.
A typical day
I like to go on walks that give your dog the chance to check out the neighborhood but also see and smell the flowers, watch the other dogs and people going by and keep them active. I have a series of paths and dog parks in my neighborhood and will ask for your preferences for dog walks and parks, as well as activities you prefer your dog to do in your area. I'm not going to be reading my phone while I walk your dog but actively playing and interacting with him or her.

This is a hustle of love for me. My main job is as a freelance editor and writer so I can bring my work with me and when I am with your pet, it's just us. I can focus my time entirely on being with your dog(s) and give them the attention and love they deserve. I learn something new each time, about your dog's breed, or way of getting along in the world, or just getting doggie kisses -- which is the best! You can trust me to love and care for your dog in your home while you are gone so you don't have to worry.
