I was raised with a dog in the home. I have always had a dog. I have in my adult life become very good with dogs. I believe strongly that the behavior of the dog depends on the behavior of the owner/handler. I currently own a Golden Retriever. She has her breakfast when I get up in the morning at the same time that I usually sit down to eat my own breakfast. She is taken out about every two hours during the day when we are home. I take her in the car as much as possible. She is my tag along. I make her completely natural dog treats. I took care of a lady that also had a Golden Retriever. I trained that dog to stay out of the kitchen while I would cook . The dog would stay at a certain spot. I would use the command word "cooking" after the dogs name so that the dog knew that I was cooking and she knew it was time to get out of the kitchen. I believe in simple commands for dogs on a leash and also constantly working with the dog and those commands in safe situations so that when unsafe situations come up you know that you can depend on the dog to obey the commands.
