Pet care experience
I had a dog growing up from the ages of 3-18, and I volunteered at an animal shelter from age 15-19. Through my time at the shelter, I've worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and behaviors. I've dogsat/walked dogs for friends and family in the past and would love to dogsit/walk your dogs for you! I have access to a car 24/7 and no other job while I am home for the summer in June. I'm able to (and would love to) take your dogs to the dog park, nature preserves, or any other place that you would be comfortable with for them to explore and burn off some energy! Dana did a wonderful job taking care of my (high anxiety) rescue pup. I traveled to Chicago with my dog and he was pretty nervous being in a new environment and with new people, and Dana was wonderful, flexible, and up for the challenge of caring for him when I needed some last minute assistance! She was very calm and helped him mellow out, sent lots of updates, and I love that she's spent time volunteering in shelters as it's given her a good understanding of how to earn a dog's trust quickly and how to work with different temperaments. I highly recommend Dana!
Dana was TERRIFIC! She did a great job communicating and the pictures she sent gave us a feel for how Maddie was doing and what she was up to while we were away. Dana wasn't just a 'dog sitter'... She seeemed intereted in spending time and getting to know our dog. We came home to spotless house but, more importantly, Maddie was happy and at ease. I would highly recommend Dana and hope she's available the next time we need a sitter!
Dana was great with Chance even though he wasn't that great with her. He's afraid of strangers, but Dana was patient with him and got him to eat a treat out of her hand. We will definitely ask Dana to take care of Chance again.
Dana took an active interest in learning about my 2 dogs before watching them. Dana communicated with me during those breaks (as I requested because one has injury) she sent pictures and gave full updates. It was reassuring. My dogs were content when I got home. It was a good experience.

If I stay over/drop in, I would also like to know if there are rooms or items of furniture that your dog is not allowed on.

I live near Prairie Wolf Dog Park, where your dog can play with other dogs, swim, and run through fields! I am an active 20 year old, so I would be willing to walk your dog wherever you are comfortable with, and can transport them in my car to any place that you would prefer they be walked.
