I love dogs and discovering their unique personalities and needs. The miniature poodle I had growing up was a “best friend” for 18 years! He was awesome in car trips around the nation, slept on my bed, walks, hikes, a good blueberry picker off the bush instead of out of my bucket, and pretty patient when I washed and cut his curly hair. I miss him. My sister has had two big amazing rescue dogs for the last 12 years: a foxhound and a Rhodesian ridgeback. Their personalities are so different yet fun loving that it makes the daily care routines of feeding, walking, playing, vet visits, and even knee replacement surgery dog nannying with them such a delight when I visit.
